if i were installing a tablet i'd want to get rid of the deck, seems redundant to have both. seeing as i rarely use CD's. anyone have any ideas?

Watch the mighty car mod video. You can remove the dec and use an amp

Looks super clean, if you could hook gauges up to it that would also be pretty sweet

yea i was hoping to maybe get something for nistune on the playbook to be able to have gauge read outs on it, but that would take me to learn how to program, then make a app, then figure out how to have it link to the playbook

Jon, yes i could have done it to an amp, and eliminate the deck all together, but if i did that i would have lost local radio stations and would have had to stream those via the net... the less data i use the better for my wallet. that is essentially the only reason why i left the deck in the car. and it lets me have a bit more control over volumes and EQ settings.

yea, im car audio/remote start/alarm installer in victoria, and have been thinking of doing this in my gtr...if you use a product made by Audison called a bit one, you can run an ipad or whatever you want through as many amps as you like, and retain a master volume, fader, eq settings etc.

the best ipad install iv ever stumbled on is this one :

ipad install in a 2004 dodge ram done by Erich out at Elite Car Audio. Like us on Facebook!

doesnt the Bit one require a large amount of computer tuning??
would the install and setup be above and beyond a non-audiophile installer?

if you have a basic understand of crossover frequency, slope and time alignment you can set it up. If your not installing a bit one in a vehicle with a bunch of high end gear its alot less critical. there are presets and you can also find generic information that would apply to "most" audio systems.

that being said, usually the bit one gets used in high end applications, if you just have a half decent 4 channel amp and wanted to run an ipad or something as your head unit, there are other more simple products out there to allow that.

Very interesting Ideas... I've chosen another route. I wasn't really planning on sharing it on the forums but here it is in stealth form...

i like ... gives sort of an r34 MFD , did you fiberglass the housing for the double din nav unit???

I put a double din nav in the stock location of my GTR along with 3 52mm gauges in place of the stock triple gauge. I moved the AC controls to the center console. pics are in the DIY section (of the double din install, no pics of the 3 52mm gauges)
