  • Braided brakes lines from the master good or bad?

So I swapped in an rb26 in my s13 last winter and tucked all my brakes lines in my frame rails and wiper cowel area, ever since I did that my brakes don't lock up anymore, it's almost like I am unable to bleed them properly.

I was able to jam the hard lines and bend them enough to tuck them away but there are alot of bends and it's giving me the impression that there's air pockets I am just unable to get rid of

    I have a 1 1/16 z32 brake master cylinder
4 flex lines at each wheel so no more rubber
And z32 brakes all around so a total of 12 pistons

I used to lock up the brakes with barely any pressure at all with the oem brake lines in the oem location

So my question is I can build -3 AN brake lines and would be realy easy to build them straight to the master and not tuck them away, chase bay also offers a kit to do this.

Or should I stick to hard lines?

I've heard many contradicting arguments about loosing pedal hardness with braided Teflon lines rather then having hard lines and others saying it doesn't matter

    Hard lines.

Hard lines with stock brake setup (booster, etc). But look at aftermarket / racing pedal box setups (AP Racing, Tilton, etc) to see what they run (can remove the booster, etc), as should be lower pressure.

Ya I was looking into it yesterday, every forum of every sort it's a 50/50, couple guys around here run the chase bay lines and love em, the chase bay lines are made of ptfe Teflon and have a Burst rating of 12,600psi, the aeroquip Teflon lines have a burst rating of 15,000 psi as well and brakes with a booster on our cars can push up to 2,000psi if I recall that correctly, but I was just wondering for pedal feel if anyone has tried this yet?

I am almost certain I will be running -3 tho
