  • What kind of short shifter do I have ?

When I bought my R32 GTR about a year ago, it came with a short shifter, not yet installed, but possibly looks used. I have no idea what brand it is, so here are a few pictures of it below. If somebody could tell me what kind it is, that would be great !!

The other thing I was unsure of, was somebody told me that any kind of short shifter is bad for a skylines transmission, If someone could also shed some light on this too, would be awesome. I don't want to install something that could bite me in the future. Personal experiences with your short shifter ? Do you like it ? Difficult to use ? And was there any performance loss/transmission problems after installing ?

In the 3rd picture, there is a part number - 9513-1303NL - And a bunch of Japanese writing on it, I google'd the part number, with no success.

    Any info appreciated !!

it looks like a knockoff. I have heard from alot of different sources that cheap shifters are very hard on your syncros. If wanting to put a aftermarket shifter in its best to go with a C's, nismo or b&m

Yeah, I don't want to risk damaging anything, the syncros are bad enough in my transmission (3rd and 4th have slight crunch when shifting hard, then again that's pretty common) So I'm sure any extra stress wouldn't be good....

Use it. From the construction it looks like quality. People who blame the short shifter for killing their synchros shouldn't run a short shifter in the first place. The reasons have been discussed before, namely less throw means more speed means more load on the synchromesh. You need to adjust your shifting speed.
