  • rear diff leaing, Should I upgrade at the same time ?

    BNR32 1990

My budget is on the low-side. My rear diff is leaking, I guess it's the seal. I'm also paying my mechanic to swap the rear diff bushing to Solid one. My car is putting about 600whp but is never saw the track ( maybe I will start this summer..).

Would you go on and try to find an used rear diff 1.5 way or keep my oem ?

Same answer as the last one I gave you Alex. DO NOT go to solid bushings. You're car is primarily street use.

Yeah I know rob, I just don't know.. the solid mount were bought for less than 50$. I don't think i ever drove more than 4k kms on my car on a full summer.

Other option seems ot be the whiteline, which are 150$, not sure I will get them in time for next week and trouble of having to sell back my solid mount.

P.S: I also believe, I wont be installing my solid subframe bushing, but at the moment I was still keen on the diff.

Unless, I go with these.. http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_..._number=W92447

Solid bushing would be a mistake for a street car.

I have solid bushings all around on my track car and it rides like a skate board.

For a street car I wouldn't spend the money on the diff!

        My two cents!

I bought the Energy Suspension kit for A Z32. Most of the parts fit and it was less than $300. It includes virtually everything.

This is a pretty good deal, if you have the coin, I'd look into that.

You have solid bushes in yours or been in a car with them?
I ask because I have solid diff bushes on the street and never noticed a difference when I swapped.

Keep the stock diff if you're on a budget unless you find a killer deal... But 600whp is crazy for a budget build haha.

What's wrong with a 2 way on the street? Have you driven a car with that on the street? It's not that noticeable either. Now if you had a welded diff...

Right now I'm using aluminium collar on my subframe bushing and it came like that with the car, so I don't know how more stiff or less stiff it is. I know i got used to any sound that way. A friend with a 300zx said he had the solid subframe and said it was driveable. I guess I will see with my mechanic if he feels like my diff busing need changing and/or my subframe too.

As for the diff, a friend of mine local is selling a cusco cheaper than 900. but i never bit the bullet because it was 2 way and was scared away.. What would the danger of the 2way diff ? more power sliding if I hit the throttle during curve ?

P.S: it's not I'm on a budget, it simply that I moved last year, don't have a garage anymore nor a driveway, I wish I could move on and buy a house so it's time for me to stop putting money on the car and enjoy the way it is!
