  • IPhone camber gauge

Hi guys I thought I'd would share this with everyone.
I didn't take pictures while I was making it and I apologize for that but I will try and answer any questions.

Here is the end product using an iPhone& case mounted to a carpenters 90.

I used picture frame hooks and an 8" chain to hang the 90 with 2ft of 5/16 threaded rod locked in the middle with 2 nuts and washers drilled at the 4" mark of the carpenters 90.

Covered the rod with hose so no scratches.

I used an iPhone case to epoxy to an electrical box plate so I could mount the phone and use a level app or the compass built into the phone for measuring.

You must zero or adjust the plate to calibrate your phone to the way you mounted the phone to the 90.

This is easily done by finding a real bubble level and calibrating it against the phone.
I installed this string bubble level which I trimmed to fit.

Here you can see how the phone and level are not synced.

Then I prop the level up on something to level the bubble and zero/calibrate the phone to the bubble

Now they both are in sync.

    Hope this helps

This can be used to check the before and after adjusting your uppers.
Example would be to measure your camber then in the case of my uppers turn the adjuster one turn. Reassemble and drive the car to settle the suspension.
Measure the camber and you can get an approx to your next adjust.
I do agree camber is set unloaded but for those that don't have a way to measure it this a start.
When I can next week I'll be getting into it and even having a go at checking the caster with it. Thanks SI for input
I'm still figuring out how to make turntables...
      Cheers
