  • Oil filter relocation question.

So i want to relocate my oil filter(r32 gtr) and the kits for that sell for like 300. Why i want to relocate it is for simple easy removal/ changing oil purpose. In the kits there 2 sandwich plate and 2 hoses. I guess its if you want to add oil cooling system?

Cant i just buy a single metalic hose for ~40 and fit it to filter and engine?

1 sandwich plate goes on the block, then your 2 hoses come off it(1 out, one in), these go up to the second plate which your filter screws on, 1 out 1 in. 1 metal line wouldn't work because that would just flow out not in. you can get cheap setups off amazon or ebay for about 130$ but they have a tendancy to leak, or you can keep an eye out on here. I got an omori meter one for 80$ shipped, and i've seen a couple greddy setups for sale for 150 ish in the last little while. keep an eye out.

Some oil cooler kits have a remote sandwich plate to fit an oil cooler, like this oil cooler kit as an example -

Greedy /Trust would be a good kit (has a diagram showing how it fits to engine) -

But I would get screw in AN fittings (I think they use Earls brand AN fittings, but double check that).

Then you can get an oil cooler kit like this to work with the simple oil filter relocation kit as shown in the link above -

I dont understand how the in/out work, cuz theres only one hole on the filter + the sandwitch plates looks like "Y" split

With the oilcooler kit it goes in one direction, from engine sandwich plate (screws on where oil filter goes on side of engine) to remote mounted sandwich plate, through oil filter and back through sandwich plate, then to oil cooler core, back to remote sandwich plate and then back to sandwich plate on side of engine.

Double check this, but there should be small holes on the bottom of the oil filter surrounding the big hole and a one way valve / rubber bung on the outside part of oilfilter, behind those small holes (that stops oil going back to sump when engine is turned off), filter material behind the one way valve / bung. Then there's the hole in the middle where oil should exit the oil filter and go through the engine.

Oil flows thru the filter via the center threaded open hole then filters out the ports back to the engine. Oil relocation needs two hoses. One for in, one for out. If you only had one hose the oil would fill the hose and then become stagnant. Oil has to circulate thru the filter to work.
