Today my rpm gauge decides to go nuts, 0-9000 and everything in between. Did a quick search and found out its a pretty common issue! So with a little more digging I came across a thread from the uk in detail how to fix this. In short, the soldier points on a 18pin micro chip(on the back of the rpm gauge) that requires re-soldiering due to cold soldier joints and age.
Took me about 1.5hrs to from start to finish and was more than delighted when it worked perfectly.
