  • First time importing a Nissan Skyline GTR to Canada

I am importing a Nissan Skyline GTR R32 myself but it is my fist time doing so. My plan is to pick up my Skyline when it lands in Vancouver and bring it back to Calgary. But I was told that I need to find a broker to deal with the Vancouver boarder. I have no clue how this works with the broker but if anyone can help me out that would be awesome.

    Thanks.

          Heres my info..

the cars paperwork and such arrive at least a week before the car gets here..

if your going to be spending a couple days in Vancouver you dont need a broker, however you do need to fax stuff.. and staying at a hotel, with access to fax is hard..

Its easyer to use a broker to just do the work, and then you can come and pick it up and leave, but if you got the time come down a couple days early and do it yourself..

all you got to loose is a bit of storage fee's, and gain a whole lot of experience..

          Dah_Hunters Advice.

1 Ok the way it works is your importer from Japan ships the car to New West BC Port
2 Then you have to clear it from customs. (soil inspection, etc)
3 Once cleared it then goes to storage facility (again it will only be released if all conditions and requirements are met.

You can then finally pick up the car and get your Form 1. Without form 1 from Canada Customs you cannot pick up your car or register it.

thanks for all the help guys. I am going to get a broker.

dah_hunter will be the man I will contact. Right now I have a GTR on hold for me in Japan. So when I buy it ill let you know. So with in a week from today.

the guy (Simon Harris) who I am buying it from said that it will take 2 weeks to get to Vancouver. Is that a accurate time period?

I talked to my to my seller in japan and he said that is very unlikely that my Skyline will be on that shipment.

Hi there, quick question. One person says you just need to go and get you form 1 and your good too go. And dahunter says you need to fax things and it takes a few days etc. which one is correct or are both correct? Also will they contact me of what I should be facing etc? (I have a skyline arriving march 14th at Vancouver port)
