  • Going To Court Soon. NEED HELP!

Ok here is my problem. I have been charged for driving with a suspended licence. I have been pulled over for doing 182khp in a 110Kph zone and driving without proper supvervision with a leaners licence. I have another ticket for driving without proper supvervision ticket. and a speeding ticket for doing 92km in a 60km zone. plus numerous ticketrs for excessive noise and a few dot infractions. blue headlights,no side marker lights, curooked licence plate, muffler bigger then the diameter of exhaust pipe. and a failer to show id/insurance.

im trying to figure out what im getting into in court and what i can try and do. woundering if anyone can shed some light on this. i goto court on the 19th of october. Thanks guys

I'd say straighten the fukk up and stop being a stupid idiot. You have a learners....you probably shouldn't be doing 180+.
Best advice: Stop breaking the law. (And if you do, don't tell us about it)

Yea what he said. I'll never say that I've been a perfect law obiding citizen but man. That is just BAD.
It's behavior like that which causes high insurance policies and cops to give people with cars like ours a hard time.
If you want to drive like that GO TO A TRACK or AUTOCROSS.
It'll get it out of your system and you won't have to go to court, plus you'll learn how to drive properly.
I'd hate to say it but your probably gonna get your @$$ kicked in court.

The only advise I could suggest is beg them to let you take the drivers ed. course again, sometimes they'll give you some credit for that

Best of luck and turn it down a few notches on the road buddy!

        That's what 10-15 tickets?

I hate to say it but you shouldn't even be driving.

Going to court will just cost you more time and money. You will end up losing and paying court fees.
You're the kind of person the cops and judge will definetly want off the roads.

Man up, stop driving like an idiot, wait 2 years to get your license back, then rethink about the past.

Driving is a privilege, not a right.

Sell GTS-T, use money to pay a bajillion dollars a year for insurance on your flashy 3 cylinder Geo Metro when you eventually get your licence back. (because it will probably be the only thing you can afford, not saying you're poor, it will just cost a lot)

Oh, and please stop driving like a douche canoe.

you should be expecting to loose your lisence for a minimum of 2yrs... maybe more... hell if i was the judge id say " no lisence for you ever "

hell you dont even have your full lisence... you should be happy your still alive...

about 4 yrs ago my gf and i went on a lil road trip, she lent her car to the person who was house sitting for us... the night we left, the person who we left our stuff with lent my gf's car to some dumb ugly chick who had her LEARNERS and that dumb ugly chick wrote the car off... surprise surprise the dumb ugly chick didnt know how to drive hence she only had her LEARNERS... just like you

so be thankful that you are alive, your car is in one piece and you will only loose your lisence for at least 2yrs...

so before you go to court buy a bus pass and show it to the judge and say this " im a young dumb moron driver, i need to take drivers ed, and some other driving courses at my expense, i have already bought a bus ticket and sold my car, im at the mercy of the court and i am prepared to pay all the fines and surrender my lisence"

get ready to enjoy the public stretch, of course you're prolly used to it anyways since you just got yout L
How many kids with A.D.D. does it take to screw in a light bulb?

I think this is my favourite thread!

Your quite a bettin' guy are ya? "i bet i can probably drive better then you guys"
I bet I've been driving almost as long as you've been alive, I bet in those few years you've been driving you've had more infractions than I have in my whole driving career.
Drive better than I do? Boy I've got more track time than you do hwy time.

I know what it's like when you first get a license, it's the best thing ever! We understand that $hi+ happens to people. Sadly you've jumped in a pretty deep pile.

Again, get ready for some lumps. Keep your ego in check and manners (yes sir, no sir) can help you out a lot.

I wish you all the best of luck with this one. You just haven't given yourself much to work with.

Well.....as much I they really did lay into you for the tickets and bad driving, like christdeyoung said, saying stuff like that isn't going to help much.

Plus this is a car enthusiast site, for high performance cars, so I'm pretty sure most of the members here are better drivers than you.

So...first things first, lose the attitude. They may have criticized your driving habits, but guess what, the Judge you talk to in court is probably going to do the same thing, and I highly doubt the Judge will put up with your attitude at all. Accept the fact that you've done some stupid things, and admit that you're an idiot for doing them, and the Judge might think you're a little more grown up than you sounded from the post you made above.

Hell, you may even want to discuss the consequences of your actions with the Judge, that you will probably lose your license, and some freedoms because of it (bus/taxi/friends to get places now), and if you're lucky the sentence will be less. (note: I'm not a lawyer, this might be a bad idea)

If you want to stand a chance at all, I would say get a lawyer. As per above, I'm not a lawyer, nor do I know much about fighting tickets or going to court, but I'm going to guess you will lose your license. If you have a good lawyer, you might get away with losing it for less time than you would otherwise.

I would recommend showing up dressed appropriately, using proper language, referring to the judge as sir or ma'am (or maybe there's a term for their position...drawing a blank here).

Basically be as respectful as you can, and maybe you'll get off lucky, or at the very least, you won't get into any more trouble. (what Bobbo said, it might help a lot)

OK the actual issue is you are charged with driving while under suspension. You received the suspension for the multiple infractions you received before i.e speeding, speeding, driving without proper supervision and failure to show proper ID/insurance. You are going to have problems because in the view of the Court or the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles, you were deemed a danger to the public and did not show the proper respect for the privilege of driving or others on the road. You are basically, with all the other DOT infractions, showing you care little about anyone else or the law.

Driving while suspended shows even a greater lack of good judgment and a total disregard for the safety of others and the law. Unless you can show the Court that either there was an urgent need to drive that could not have been satisfied by other means of transportation (i.e. taxi, bus, friend driving), show that you did not know that you were suspended or that you cannot work without your driver's license, all without misleading the Court, you will likely continue to be suspended for a significant period of time.

Your lucky. In BC, you car would have been impounded for the time that you are under suspension and you would have to pay for the towing and storage costs.

Maybe you had good reasons for all the infractions. It's hare to tell from the brief information you have given. But look at it from everyone elses view. You never said how long you've been driving and admit to getting a ticket for doing over 180 in a 110 zone while you had your learner while driving alone. You never even said if you no longer had your N. If you read of someone having so many infractions what would you think of them.

Driving is a privilege not a right. As such, you have to show that you deserve that privilege because you are in control of a weapon that could maim or kill not only you but someone else. Everyone thinks that they are a good driver... maybe you are... maybe you've just been lucky.

Yes mostly Shubie. Some in car but mostly bike. Some out in BCwith cars, lots of autocross, and some in Ontario (Shannonville).

Check out the bluenose BMW site. There is a really good course held a couple of times a year at AMP taught by race drivers. It's a nationally recognized course so if you (heaven forbid) bend your car insurance will "apparently" cover you. It's about $478, includes tonnes of track time and some great lunch.
There is another one done by the race organization (there's a link from the AMP site) that has one for much cheaper ($175 I think) but it's more geared towards racing only.

I've done the latter one and it was great, would certainly suggest taking it. My wife and I are taking the BMW one next year. She wants to learn to drive her WRX better and an aquantence (sp) of mine is one of the instructors and suggested I bring my GTR out. Good way to support my wife I figure!
