I feel bad for anyone that has problems with registeringinsuring a jdm. It really couldnt have been any easier for me. i called my insurance company, gave them the vin, year, make, model etc, they faxed me a temp pink slip, went to the registries and registered it all within about 20 minutes with no hassle.

Alberta is a different ball game than ontario. Just saying. for me, nothing got fixed or resolved. it was just over ridden. if there are exceptions or issues (not saying there should or i agree with it) you would think there someone would be able to fix the problem. not just over ride it. Idk

I kept going to the dmv and kept getting the vin exception speech this went on forever. Finally the lady said she could call head office and over ride the error code. She made the phonecall once and the guy said no, then she called back 15 mins later and this guy said sure. called my insurance company and told em i needed it on vin exception. the lady didnt know what i was talking about. so i kept asking for managers. It took 45 mins on the phone and telling my situation over and over until it was resolved.

Its all in who you get on the other end of the line or who youre dealing with at the DMV. IF they care and want to help you out they CAN, lots of workers are scared of over writing stuff in fear of getting in trouble. Like i said above, the problem wasnt resolved, it just got the over ride.

Well I guess whoever buys my car will have it easy.... 17 digit re vin on my car. I have gotten an appraisal on the car as well so I don't have a problem insurin nor getting stickers for it. I don't think they do a re vin anymore though

oh you mean on the re vin ryan? I havent heard of it being done in a couple years. The last one that was done was that spliced r34 which has a 100% legal 17 digit vin administered by the mto, i dont know how they managed that but they did it! And ryan I would give you mine if i could man!

Ahh thanks man aha. I'll just inquire when Im putting a car on the road. I think it would help incredibly when trying to plate and insure it.

Trust me it is very easy when like this. I still got an appraisal so they knew the value of the car

My full apraisal was really cheap. I think it was like 250$ for everything and it came with I think 30 pictures and full documentation of the vehicle. I guess that's something I could include with the sale

According to Right Drive, they don't do re-vins for RHD cars anymore. I wanted to get one since I keep getting dicked around by the mto.
