Please understand it is illegal for us to drive a JDM vehicle newer than 25 years old over the border for sale to a US resident. Still, more and more threads are popping up and its an eyesore.

Unfortunately my last thread I started, which was started purely for this, was mucked by incredibly off topic discussion and is gone.


Americans....understand that NO ONE will sell to you (unless you come HERE). When crossing a border in a JDM vehicle newer than 25 years old, we are promted to sign a declaration saying we won't sell. If we do, we are screwed.

that wtb ad is why I rewrote this thread. and yes Id really like to prevent this from going OT, and I think itd be very helpful to new members abroad to have this stickied. Its not that theyre stupid, its just that as a community we don't support illegal activities, as Daryl will very quickly point out...selling to the US is illegal. Nuff said.

this is kinda false info. You don't speak for everyone on this forum. (not saying that I'd do this, because I wouldn't).

But I've crossed the border in JDM vehicles probably 100 times by now and never once asked to sign anything about selling it. If they have any doubt in their mind or think that you might be trying to sell the car over there, they'll just turn you around at the border.

Depends where you are going through I hear. The west coast boarder doesn't take a second glance, the eastern boarder is where you hear all the horror stories.

Youre correct Terrh. As for the declaration, I havent seen it not issued since mid 2010.

And yeah, Id just like to see a block of the WTB ads from the states. If someone is willing to sell them to the states, their FS ad would indicate it.
