I know it sounds stupid to want to hide them but if an officer saw this I thi k it would aggravate him/her even more. All I want to be able to do is politely say " um I'm sorry sir/mrs. But I have documentation that says other wise...." and once proving it to them it might be a different story. If perhaps it doesn't go my way well then the camera comes into play
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

This is such a textbook example of how NOT to handle the situation.

Look - Print out the Highway Traffic Act and put it in your glovebox. If an officer makes a claim that you know (I mean KNOW, for sure, like you've carefully read the text and understand the legislation) is incorrect, politely ask them to reference the section, and then ask them if it's OK for you to show the relevant section in the HTA.

Cameras, arguing with the officer, having priors, etc. will not help in your favour. However, if you do get a ticket, you CAN contests it in court. I believe there is even a box on the ticket itself that you put a checkmark in to let them know you'll go to court. Then explain your case to a judge. If you win, you take the information from the court to the police department that the officer is associated with, and you let them know the situation and what the judge's ruling was. This will help everyone...the more we get the correct information out there, the less hassles will occur. We just need to do it in a mature, non-confrontational manner. Pissing people off is not a good way to teach.

And for ^%*&^% sakes don't grab or push an officer's hand off your car. That's just a boneheaded move all around.

What I mean is, usually the guys that driving around thinking their **** doesn't stink, the tough guys, don't have too much respect for law enforcement. When they do get pulled over, those guys (at least from what I've seen in person) drive around without insurance slips (or a policy period). thats what I meant by missing paperwork. Not all the time, but again I see time and time again its the guys that are sitting there at tims and when a cop rolls by they yell "f the police". more often than not, those guys dislike the cops for hassling them about not having their cars legal, meaning No cats and no insurance, which are both illegal to begin with. Hard to describe through this, but usually the ones that bitch the most, are the ones that have no grounds to bitch. If your car is perfectly legal and you are not driving erratically, thats when the police attention will die down.

By no means am I trying to knock you Chris (ruckus), I know you better than that. I'm just saying fighting anything at roadside is a bad idea. The officers that DO know the correct procedures wont be pulling you over, cause they know youre fine. Telling a cop that thinks hes right, hes wrong, will just be a bad idea all around.

A simple way to stop harassment: shut up and nod. Say thank you officer and see them in court. Unfortunately RHD owners WILL ALWAYS be harassed, trying to dispute it at the roadside will only make the problem worse as a whole.

ok i have copys of the rhd sticker crap in my car .but i cant really do nothing about them making stuff up on the spot .im not going to keep a bunch of law books in my car sorry .

"arguing with the officer, having priors, etc. will not help in your favour"
priors -no priors sorry ,great driving record
arguing - sorry i was nice for the first 3hrs
you guys taking this like i got stoped n freaked out .when this was NOT true i was nice thru the whole thing i have rights to ask questions back.
& i DONOT think it right for them to almost try to rip off my door cause it was locked and putting his hand inside grabbing stuff looking for the locks & after all this weard movment the was doing THEN he askend me to get out.understand my view now sit in my seat for a sec n try to pic this happening to you .you would be like WTF is going on here? so i think i have right to slide his hand away from my locks n unlock my own car n get out my self no? all he has to do is ask he dont have to get rough for no reason with me or my car trying to like rip off my door(kinda bullying in my eyes). cause at this time i still was being nice till about 3hrs later then i started to ask questions .i think i have right to question "why you doing this- questions like this " all thay could say to me was go to MTO n get it fixed or next time we are taking your car.
when i was question them about the ownership & driver lic & herd there answer i said back oh well i didnt know you need a rhd on ownership or proof u can drive rhd on drivers lic ...so really how the heck is this being rude n stuff.

see when i install cams n mic (which isnot just for cops would be great for driving videos to) i could put it here then you's can see for your self and i bet you would be like -omg he really wasnt doing nothing or really talking back.he was just getting off hwy-stopped -harrass-letgo-for 3hrs.

so dont think i dont know how to handle a cop pulling me over but i NEVER herd of this b4 rhd on ownership or proof on driver lic to operate rhd car & saying thay are going to take my baby ..umm sorry at this point i really dont care im asking questions and if thay dont like it oh well let me go then or do somthing. cause im not going to sit there n take them making stuff up just to threaten me .but rember im not against police or nothing but copers like this make the good ones look really bad. like the 2nd opp officer there the old guy he was chatting with me while having a smoke & checking my ride talking about cars n stuff.(as you can see he was kool)

I think Oakville has the best advice here...let them do what they will on the side of the road, and just take it to court. You will never win on the side of the road situation, it's too volatile and dangerous. There are bureaucratic ways to deal with the repercussions.

Oakville and Daryl have it right. Take the ticket, mark option 3, and take it to court. Best and only way of doing anything

been pulled over lots... Only appropriate response to any demand/request (no matter how BS it happens to be) is say "Yes sir/ma'am". This will save you time/effort/money or all three.

I remain ticket free to this day

Would be very strange to be hassled and not issued a ticket for anything... Never heard of that before. And that certainly would be a huge hassle

It's the good old "checking documentation" excuse. It's not a real reason to pull you over, but it's so the police can just check up on anything they feel is suspicious. Chris, I know the feeling. My friend had a CVPI the police didn't like and would pull him over on a more-or-less daily basis, most of the time I was in the car. So I know the feeling of "this is BS." But the best thing to do overall is just answer their questions, be polite, and save your questions for the courtroom. If you're lucky, the cop might not want to carry through with it. Not show up in court, you go free. Or worst comes to Worst, you argue your case to the Justice and most likely get the charge thrown out, depending on what it is.
