I would pretty much make a routine to ask every officer his badge number before entering any conversation. It might prevent them from harassing people in the first place.

Whenever you get stopped for no reason (meaning you dont have a fat ass muffler, you weren't speeding, etc), and it's obvious you are getting harassed, politely ask the officer for his full name and badge number. If he asks why just say it's for documentation purposes. Then watch him back off and leave you alone.

BUT the most important thing is: after you get home, call the police station and make a complaint (if it was indeed harassment, stopping you for no reason, etc). Only with complaints will changes happen.

Do you guys remember that cop that used to give out tickets based on car color? He would get up that day and say: "I'm ticketing every white car I see today". Well it may have taken over 200 complaints to get him sanctioned, but at least it was done.

EVERY single one of you guys that gets stopped for that stupid RHD sticker BS should call it in after, eventually they'll get the message, inform their officers better, and they will stop harassing you guys about it.

Haha, that cop was crazy, I'm glad that people complained about him, talk about a rogue officer.

We actually had a customer at one time pulled over on the 400, he had a Subaru Sambar with a VW bus imitation front end on it, and the officers told him it was illegal to have a VW emblem on the front, and a Subaru emblem on the rear. So the customer called us in front of the officers and asked us to explain to the officers that the vehicle was legal. The officers just walked away in mid-sentence. Unbelievable.

But yes, I do agree with you 100%, everyone should complain to the division office if they feel they have been harassed, but in a MATURE, DIPLOMATIC fashion. Having backwards hat, lower rider jeans guys walking into police stations saying "Yo the officers be hatin' on my sick RHD" is not going to help at all.

ya i was talking to the 2 neighbours at my dads in barrie that just happen to boath be o.p.p too & said for me to give them boath a copy of whatever i get in my gtr (I.E. rhd sticker or anything along them lines + the cops business card w/badge #). thay will see what thay can do.

Requirements for signalling device

(6) A mechanical or electrical signal device shall clearly indicate the intention to turn, shall be visible and understandable during day-time and night-time from the front and from the rear of the vehicle for a distance of 30 metres, and shall be self-illuminated when used at any time from one-half hour after sunset to one-half hour before sunrise. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 142 (6).

this wasnt 4 no rhd sticker on car this topic was from not having rhd sitcker on. My ownership slip which was all b.s. But its all been set stright now. & everything was dropped.
