  • RHD stickers are manditory?

Ive read over and over about people getting harrassed by police about the absence of a "right hand drive" sticker on they're vehicles. Guys say they carry around a printout of the HTA in the glove box to prove themselves right... Well i was just browsing the HTA and under the Vehicles with right hand drive section i see this:

    Vehicles with right hand drive
    63. Every vehicle that is equipped with a right hand drive shall, unless it is equipped with a mechanical or electrical signal device as described in subsection 142 (6), have prominently displayed on the rear thereof, in bold face letters of not less than 50 millimetres in height and of a colour which is in contrast to that of the vehicle, the words,
    “RIGHT HAND DRIVE VEHICLE”.
    R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 63.
I canz take this corner at 195k cause i gots AWDZ. Get real.

Read it carefully. Electrical or mechanical signal device as stated in 142 (turn signals). If your car has them, you don't need a RHD sticker. The sticker is to inform drivers (should you not have turn signals) that the hand signals will come from the right side.

Mind you I imagine you save lots of hassle by rocking one.

I assume they give you a hard time because they want it there in case a turn signal burns out.

Ah, i thought all vehicles were required to have signals. After reading further i found that they are only required between one half hour before sunset and one half hour after sunrise.

Judging by what I see on the roads it seems only about 30% of vehicles are equipped with turn signals so no surprise there.

            ^^ lol
It's incredible how often you see that. Is it really that hard to lift and hand and push the signal stalk? I'd say 70% of BMWs owners refuse to signal.
