  • Studying in the USA want to drive Skyline over HELP????

Im soon going to be a skyline owner, I'm currently studying at a school in a rural area in NY and I want to bring a skyline over for the time that I am there. BTW I live in toronto. Is it a good idea for me to bring it over and keep it there for around a year while I am there. I will drive is like once or twice a week so it wont draw too much attention, i guess, but i read somewhere that the US is seizing skyline. I dont want to lose my skyline to the US gov if I do bring it over. Does anyone have any advice for me.

    Thanks

Since your Canadian and the car is owned and registered by you in Canada, the Yanks won't/can't seize it. You may or may not have trouble crossing the border with it though, as the American border guards occasionally assume you're intending to sell it down there.

im pretty sure if the car plans on staying in the us for over 6 months it needs to be imported. you will have no problems if you drive the car back to canada periodically. I am in the same boat i live in bc and go to university in washington for a year and a half i drove my bnr32 to the states i had no problems but i did drive home at least once a month.
