So you get an idea of what numbers Zulu ran with his setup, and you can make comparisons.Originally posted by MikeM@Ztune View PostLol, well, it's not really negative when you just comment on a random HP number someone picked out of the sky.
I'd be curious to see what you run on that dyno...wish you would have given it a go when you came to the dyno day!
Yes, injector size is one factor in fuel delivery and use. Fuel pressure, cam timing, compression ratio...all affect fuel requirements. There are many ways to lower injector duty cycle, including water/meth injection.
As with many project cars, Eber has done a bunch of stuff, and he has a bunch more stuff in mind, including cams and...something in the trunk that helps spool...?
Zulu's car ran out of fuel at 1.6BAR and hit 530AWHP while doing so on 700cc Sards. The car also has Tomei B poncams which were fully dialed in with adjustable cam gears. Turbos were GT2860-5, and there was no Aux injection. Seeing as who the man was behind the computer while it was being tuned, I can honesty say that he got as much power was possible from his current setup. With larger 1000cc injectors, his car has a lot left in it.
I can't say anymore, as it's not my car... but just so you get an idea of what kind of setup he was running to hit his numbers. I look forward to seeing numbers from Eber's car.

Unfortunately zulu didn't want to do a dyno run here on the heartbreaker, so we can't compare apples to apples as the dyno we use generally reads 15-20% lower than most. Not sure what XS uses, but I think zulu said they had to do 4th gear runs on his car, whereas RG's dyno can get full accuracy on 3rd gear runs.Originally posted by falcon View PostSo you get an idea of what numbers Zulu ran with his setup, and you can make comparisons.
The numbers you posted certainly sound reasonable given his setup though, and I would guess that guys like XS are using an accurate dyno! Is that the street tune or the race gas tune? Either way it sounds like a fast, strong car! And just like Eber's, because it's over-built, it has more potential waiting to be tapped!FINAL CLEARANCE! EVERYTHING MUST GO NOW!

Yes, we had just gotten back so it didn't seem logical to run the car on the dyno again since it was already put through the paces 3 days earlier. As for what dyno they use, if I recall correctly, it's a Dyno Dynamics 4WD dyno. They did do 4th gear pulls, as that is typically the industry norm for dyno pulls.Originally posted by MikeM@Ztune View PostUnfortunately zulu didn't want to do a dyno run here on the heartbreaker, so we can't compare apples to apples as the dyno we use generally reads 15-20% lower than most. As for the numbers, at 1.6bar on 91 octane it put out 530awhp, and on c16 it hit 479awhp maxing out the injectors at 1.8bar.
Defiantly overbuilt and has a lot of potential, hopefully in the future we will see it hit the magical 600awhp on pump.

Eber, if you want....remember to add your info to the SHORTBLOCK and DYNO threads in the GT-R section
Specs: 1994 gts25t 108,000km 5 speed rb25det black paint (with the odd scuff) Mechanically well maintained, oil change always @ 3000 mark, recently changed coolant and tranny fluids. It's registered and insured near stock, but mods are as follows: 3 inch exhaust from turbo ksport coilovers, fully adjustable Blitz r fit piggy
Since this question has come up a few times, I thought i'de make a thread about it. We do finance vehicles but not in house. I can't wait to see your numbers...

I never said I didn't want to dyno my car. I simply did not want to spend money to do so. If you would like to donate a few dyno pulls I will gladly put my car on that dyno. I totally agree with you on the differences in dynos. You simply cannot compare one to the other. Even if they are the two Mustand dynos. Each dyno will read differently, that being said I have nothing to hide, its fast, fun, built by my hands, and reliable.
I hope Eber makes some good power once you guys get the car dialed in. It would be neat to see how quick another built GTR is. Maybe once it's built we can take it to track (No I don't mean Drag racing) and see how each car runs. This would be a great example of engine, suspension, and driver skills.
Keep us informed Eber on what kind of power numbers you get out of your ride and get us some specs as to your build to. I'm sure we all would like to see.Fraser Valley Imports

We havent looked to much into the short commings of the car but have come to the conclussion that one of the wastegate actuators walked its way out casuing all the shuffle and breakdown of consistant pulls. As there is snow on the ground and my bank account is empty I have to wait untill Jerie gets back from vacation to have a real look at the problem at hand. I am hoping that that is the problem with the turbo instead of it being a thrown wheel. If that is the case I may be at a stale mate for a while. I am going to concentrate over the next couple weeks to have the gas hooked up in the trunk and finish the needed cleaning up of loose ends. Then the engine gets yet another once over. I have a couple more things in mind for the new year including meth injection and some interior bits.

Update.. the turbos have been removed and it seems as though one of the wwastegates wasnt set proir to install. You could have fit a dime under the flap at idle. There is now a little shaft play in the front turbo due to its time on the dyno but nothing major. It should be back together next wekk and retuned to see if the problems have been fixed.
