Ive had great success in strapping a tri-pod to the front seat or rear seats. Seats help cushion etc. Kinda budget but it works.
Budget example of rear set up. Seat belts come in handy. Tie straps too.

Solid mounts literally shut down my HD equipped video camera.
This budget set up for example shut down the camera quickly. Way too stiff.

Ah the one in the S14. She stayed put the whole time.Originally posted by Oakville View Postahh yeah, the seat setup is from that video of yours I commented on from the other day. The tripod doesnt move around too much?

This one was strapped to the passenger seat. Moved a bit and only because the latch tension was weak.
It also helps to have a rugged tripod. One being used is made by Slik. Nice entry piece. All alumi.
This one was strapped well in the back of the S14. Didnt move.

The suction cup camera's for outside of drift cars, surfing, most sports events use is the Go Pro camera -
They are water proof hence can be used for surfing, etc.
Can mount Go Pro camera on seats, windows, etc. It has different mounting options, etc.
Seat mount -
Rollcage mount -
Suction cup mount (outside of car, etc) -

I've seen one mounted to a harness/stabilizer bar just behind the front seats, in between them. I've seen where people have put a tripod thread on a part of there cage to fasten the camera to. (most camera's have a threaded mount for a tripod etc).I've also seen kits that clamp onto a cage bar, I forget which company makes it again...
Not sure how well these work, but its an option none the less.“Hey, come on, its a car right? No. It’s a symbol of your history, its a thread of continuity from which you came to where you are. It’s important that you don’t want to forget who you are.” -Dr.Phil in "Love the Beast"

As much as I like Adam's setup, that GoPro camera looks awesome. The only thing I find weird about it is the videos posted showing what the view looks like etc, show huge lag. If you click see how they work or look or whatever, the videos have lag, but Skym the one vid you posted of the 4dr, didnt seem to have any lag, just a lot of audio distortion.Victory is on the horizon..

I have a go pro hero. It's a great little camera but there are a few things i dont like. The audio is horrible. The camera is encased in a watertight shell and sound gets quite badly distorted. Also, though it has proved to be very durable, when switching the camera from various mounts, the smaller pieces (for adjusting the camera angle etc.) are very brittle. I have broken two of them, by simply unbolting them and sliding them on or off. Overall for the $200 I've paid for it, it's been worth it.
-I bought the motorsports package and the suction cup piece is a tank. It's not one of the brittle pieces I mentioned. There are two different types of plastic that make up the mounts and clips. One is a sort of hardened glossy plastic (be careful with those) and the other is a softer plastic that is dull in colour (very durable). Now if only all the clips and mounts where made from the second material.

Computer might be struggling to play those videoclips due to format used or frame rate used for web application has dropped frames (probably 15fps). The frame rate is 30fps (frames per second) on camera, so I doubt it's the camera.
The sound distortion could be wind sound. A windjammer, which is used on shotgun microphones (pro digital camera's, etc) removes or reduces wind sound.
This is what a windjammer for shot gun microphone looks like -
Could tape something similar to a windjammer over the microphone part on digital camera to remove or reduce the wind sound.RESPONSE MONSTER
