  • So I raised the Skyline today...

Well after a bumpy ride back from Skymeet yesterday and my mechanics pointing out that my car is too low, I finally got around to raising the HCR today. Thought I'd share. As much as I love the look of a lowered/slammed car, I have to admit I'm enjoying the ride a lot more now that the dampeners are set to a softer setting.

Here's how it sat yesterday at Skymeet:

And now... here's how it is today:

Trust me, I'm aware that it doesn't look as good as it did before, but I'm willing to sacrifice that for now as it is my daily driver, and I'm already loving the smoother ride quality.

Definitely still looks good! I've driven 2 GT-Rs that were super low, and the ride was so bad. Felt like the car was going to literally fall apart. Super low cars might look good, but sure doesn't drive or feel good.

H&R doesn't even make springs for the Skyline

Running too low will also wear out suspension and steering components twice as fast too. I slammed my GTR, but had to come back up due to offset and massive wheel rub on the wheel arches, lol. Looks good anyways!

im sure everyone knows my opinion on raising cars haha but i mean i understand having a car that just feels good to drive and not like a burden on your spine... i had cut springs on coilovers... needed about 3 inches before the spring could have preload lol.... but i would rather sacrifice quality for looks, but all that matters is each one loves their skyline so im stoked it makes you love it more lol. the lower i go the bigger my smile gets hahaha

ill let you know if the custom coilovers will be more comfortable for low...
