  • Post Your Drag Times

Hey, just thought it'd be cool to see what times people are running. My car ran a 14.3 at 99mph in 5 Degee Celsius weather. My 60 foot time was 2.5 second on "way past bald" tires. Anyone else have times for their cars yet?? I cant wait to get my mods done this winter.

Sorry, what i meant was that the car is parked for winter and i have cough...plans for it...cough. We'll see how far my money takes me. But ya, we were definately doing a lot of burnouts that weekend so the tires were down to the wires.....im pretty confident as the car sits right now, i could get another couple tenths out of it (better tires and a better track day).

5 degrees is pretty cold to be running at a track. so how doesa turbo react to really cold air, i know its more dense and all but at some point it couldbe to cold right?

The car pulled hard like it always does...but i know the traction loss far outweighed any gains made by the cooler air. Im lookin for a 12 this spring on hankook ventus 245/45zr17, and then we'll see what some slicks does... BTW, as far as i know, the cooler the better....from a power perspective anyway, the cool air might damage the turbo at some point though...i dunno..??

its true the colder the better for every deg colder you get i believe you gain more power, as per why some racers have nos spray infront of their intercoolers, because nos comes out at -72 deg.

as far as i know dont flame me

yeah i've heard of the sprayign the intercooler to drop temeratures, but lets say ur drivinga car hard in minus 30 wont it damage something?

Driving a car in freezing temps shouldn't hurt anything provided you take the time to go through proper warmup procedure.

14.7@95mph for the 323. See what happens next spring with the Phantom Grip that we just put in. Then after that, custom intake manifold and header. Then after that, well other tricks. But after that, perhaps a GTS-t to try some stuff.

So as long as the car is warmed up its good to go?

12.86 @ 102mph in the Talon. Not too sure if I'm gonna start draggin the Line until I get some work done on that aging engine. Might be a good idea for the rest of you to. Think of how some of your cars have been treated by the previous owner, and what could be really weak or going somewhere in your bottom end or head on that 15 yr old car. This is the LAST car you want throwing a rod or bending valves!!! Especially for those of you new to turbo engines. Nothing like punching a hole in the IC piping to make you think you've walked the crank or something, and causing you thousands of dollars in work and tearing apart for just a simple vacuume hose or pressure line.

15.5@92mph in my old Integra (double clutching 4rth to 5th cost a few tenths)
15.2@96mph in my BMW 740i (alittle sluggish of the line)
We`ll see what the Orange Crush runs in the spring as I am dropping a 5.0 into it this winter. I predict low 14s, high 13s with traction. 2700lbs car with 190 rwhp. (stock motor)
