  • First time at the track

Wen't to the track last night for the first time. We almost got rained out but the got the track dry enough to run (although still slippery)

First run I launched at 6500 and got a 2.165 60' spinning the whole way
ended up running 13.412 at 101.87 (boost at 15.5)

second run turned up the boost to 16 and launched at 6000. this time got 2.151 still spinning the whole way. that time I ran 13.178@102.22

Last run I let a freind of mine run the car to see what he could do. boost at 16.5. He bogged off the line (we think it was because of low fuel 2/3 of tank)
and ended up hitting fuel cut because of the boost. he managed to run 13.522 at 111.88mph!!!

Overall I'm pretty happy considering the wet track.

    PS I won fastest import.

you shouldnt bog due to low fuel especially with 2/3 full, most people run 1/4 tank at a strip...

with a better launch you should run high 12's as those are decent times
How many kids with A.D.D. does it take to screw in a light bulb?

if you get a better 60' time you will run 12's.

try getting super sticky tires like mine advan a048's. zero spinning. literally.

My mods are R34 motor, Hks intercooler, hks hardpipes, somesort of aftermarket turbos (at 1 bar pulls much harder than freinds with stock turbos) HKS EVC VI, OS giken gearset, aftermarket clutch, HKS exhaust, aftermarket downpipes and blitz ECU.

for tires I'm running 245/40R18 falken RT615's. I know 18's are alittle big for drag racing but I need them to fit over my 345mm 6pot greddy's.

                Nice kit!

The apology for 18 in wheels is my fav! Wheels should be just big enough to fit over brakes. (in my world anyhow!)

RT615s are some of the grippiest tires this side of R rateds. he spun alot aswell once he got into boost. I think the mph differnce was made up alot in the shift points. I was alittle nervous as the track was very dark (landing strip at airport with light towers) and was more focused on going straight than shifting at the right point, being my first time and all. I was going into 4th before the end of the track and he was still in 3rd so I musta been short shifting bad.

R compounds aren't gonna help when the track is wet.

well.. him not going into 4th and doing 111mph in 3rd probably means he went past 8,000rpm. if your engine is rebuild then all the power to ya but if it is stock... good luck.
I ran 12.9 @ 107mph (stock turbos average tires and 1 bar with Cat) and i still went into 4th gear at last little bit of the 1/4mile.
i barely kept my eye off the tach the whole way.. trying to get perfect shifts of 7500-7750 rpm. most stock rb26's have a peak HP at 7600rpm.

Super Dudes car runs an OS gearset ratios are a bit diferent to mine. I crossed the line @ 8200 rpm in his car. SDs engine is a R34 Nur not the standard engine. But the track was Dry. Other wise we wouldnt have let cars run on it. I am one of the officials at that event and we do not ever let cars compete on a wet track. Th track was dry thats why the engine was pulled down when launched at 6000rpm.
