Igor starts last on the poll and finishes 17th. Had great launch off the start. Congrats.
Track conditions were poor from the events before. Showed some good footage of the GTR. Igor looked like he had one hairy moment, but recovered.
Other moments of interest, they had an WRX STi in the race, looked like it had EX colours. EX built a 8's drag Subie that pushed 800+hp. DB9's decided not to run and do testing instead.1989 Skyline GTR

Roof cam shots were nice.
EDIT: Mechanical Failure after 4laps.
Merritts keeping up to date a bit. As she said, the car we ran at Sebring was a different car than we ran at St. Pete and Long Beach. We put the backup car together from a rolling shell to a race car in 5 days of 16-20 hour days.
Not enough time to get everything correct, we made practice and qualifying, but we were way off pace.
The start was awesome at St. Pete.... I actually let out a "Hell yeah" over the radio. 7000 rpms and let the clutch out. Igor managed to get by about 6 or 7 cars on the start. A couple laps in 4 cars got together in front of him. Fourth lap, I got the radio call that he had lost power. An intercooler pipe had popped off. He wasn't able to make it back around to the pits safely.
Long Beach, our home track. Litterally my home track, as I live less than half a mile from the temporary circuit normally. Problems as usual. We have some issues in the practice session. In the second session, we break a c clip off an axle that gets us only a few laps. First turn in qualifying we lose the brakes and end up flat spotting the tires. We end up qualifying in the 24th position. This time I tell Igor to be easy on the start, and he passes 5 cars by the first turn.
As odd as it may sound, we are down on power. We thought we brought enough, we didn't. Not a big deal.
I think the same issue with the Easy Street WRX, and the Aston Martins(didnt run at Long Beach), down on power.
We end up finishing 17th, in front of the Easy Street WRX that was having teething issues like us.
Next race is Mid-Ohio. We are working on the car, working on things to make the car more competitive.Sean Morris

Sean, the World Challenge website, say the GT class is running between 475 and 500hp, Do you think that is about right? I would think it would be more, as the Vipers come stock with 550hp.
Roughly, what do you think you were running Hp wise?1989 Skyline GTR

That really sucks!

New engine/turbo combination. One turbo failed. Spent all night changing it, lost a line during qualifying and dumped out all the water. Overheated and killed the engine.
After Mid-Ohio, we did another engine, different turbos, new engine management. Up neary 100 whp.Sean Morris

We were up at Infineon for testing a couple of weeks before the race. We had a few laps, but we were having some braking issues. Igor went for the brakes on one corner, and nothing was there. Straight off the track into the barrier.
Pretty depressing overall, down but not out.
As I said before, we were up a bit on power, had done some more spring/suspension testing, and we felt pretty good going into Infineon.Sean Morris
