Man!! I am having such a hard time even just getting a quote for a GTR. The one I did get was $5000 per year! WTF! I'm 42 with a perfect driving record. This is an absolute joke.

Is it your DD? If not, your laughing. Can't remember the name but there was a thread about a week or so ago about an insurance company in Ont. that was charging about $250 a year for a collector type of insurance. Can't be your primary vehicle though.
Same policy, but the rates will fluctuate according to the appraised value.
You have to get an approved appraisal, you can't just make up the value yourself.

Does their policy include theft??
If I say my car is worth $10k opposed to $20k, how different is my policy?
Full coverage,i pay 350,not my daily,by the way you can put steering wheel where ever you want,it does not change a thing, insure import vehicle in Ontario,it's very hard, even if you import left hand drive with 17 digit vin, most of the companies still won't insure it,i wanted import bmw 740 LHD 17 dig vin all good,i called around for weeks,i only found one company, but they told me first to get the car here and then they will decide.
Thanks for all the great advice. You guys are very helpful. I have no intention of switching the car to LHD now. I've driven a few GTR's now and find it quite easy.
Also, I've found an insurance company that give reasonable rates. Like some one mentioned the GTR's are considered "classic" cars. So as long as it's not your main vehicle and you park it in your garage over the winter he insurance is cheap. $419 for the year.
It also helps to be a part of a club like this one.
