If you can change your oil, and remove a filter I am sure you can do this yourself. There are plenty of DIY photo ins online, jus gotta search for it

How does this unit compare to a unit by HKS in regards to cooling effectiveness? Is it a high end unit for 1000+ rwhp or more of a medium aplication unit?

hard to compare as we never did a test. However even if your car had a 1000 + WHP, and oil cooler is just an oil cooler at the end of the day... no moving parts only metal cooling oil
