and i feed and provide the homeless of toronto with somewhere to sleep at night ... and i think that is something good. dont understand why you dont .

SINCE nobody understands what my comment was directed towards let me explain to the lamens , 1) not an actually group buy so no need to start a buyers count 2) its not even an thread about gauging interest for a group buy since spank110 didnt propose to do start one 3) Ztune provides nistune at near GB prices ... *shurgs i can make a diagram with lots of colour if that helps

Holy $hi+ you bunch of school yard yangers!
Granted the kit is like $400 but what capabilities does it have. The site doesn't say a whole lot.
I was figuring on the Apexi PFC but if this offers enough for the dollar I would consider looking at it again. REGARDLESS IF IT'S A GROUP BUY OR NOT.

I love you all and Rabbit makes me laugh. It's f'in xmas for christ sake!

IMO its the best affordable unit out there ( next to a Haltech Platinum ECU)
the PFC is old and dated technology Nistune is cheap, gets new software updates now and then , and the fact that its rom tune means installation / initial start up is a breeze.
and if one does find it to be too limiting they really should just get a haltech or be balling and drop mid 4 figures on a Bosch unit

I pay taxes and EI, like most of us and that money goes to the same kinda stuff (not quite as direct), even to those who choose not to work and go on "pogy".

Anyways, you have a point but so do they. Let em try and make a GB without a supplier found, it may work out unlike all other GBs

From what I understand, Nistune updates stock R32 ECU (replaces EPROM chip inside stock ECU with a daughter board, EPROM socket for daughter board, cable to connect daughter board to main circuit board), so ECU can be reflashed / retuned by consult plug (diagnostic plug where Nissan plugs up their handheld Consult diagnostic computer, which is located under dash on drivers side), consult cable, laptop with wideband.

Nistune basically modernises stock ECU. Most new cars can be retuned in a similar way (reflashing). The difference is with Nistune, changes to maps can be done in realtime on dyno and engine responds straight away to those changes. With reflashing, changes are made before sending maps to ECU (no realtime). So change settings, send to ECU and check results on dyno with new cars (reflashing ECU).

The old way with R32 ECU, was to open ECU up, remove EPROM chip. Fit EPROM socket. Fit emulator cable to EPROM socket that's connected on the other end of emulator to laptop via cable. After changes, burn to EPROM chip, remove emulator and fit EPROM chip. Only problem is program / tune couldn't be tweeked without opening ECU up and removing chip, fitting emulator again to make changes. Nistune board eliminates the need for a emulator, as changes are done via consult plug, consult cable, laptop (just like new cars).

Stock R32 ECU is 8bit and has 16 rpm x 16 load fuel + ignition maps, knock fuel + ignition maps (GTR ECU supposedly has onboard boost control).

PowerFC ECU is 16bit and has 20 rpm x 20 load fuel ignition maps and onboard boost control.

The speed of ECU is related to how many features ECU has to run at same time. Usually more features, faster ECU.

PowerFC main weak point is lack of knock maps (low, high octane fuel maps). If engine knocks on low octane fuel or bad batch of fuel, PowerFC ECU does nothing about it, except flash the light on dash. Stock R32 ECU can switch to knock maps, which pulls ignition timing, injects more fuel to save engine.

Knock maps are also handy when coilpacks fail, as stock ECU can detect the rough running engine via knock sensors and adjust to suit.

You can turn knock maps off for racetrack use, which I gather is what Nismo does on 640hp capable Group-A R32GTR's -

Stock ECU is strapped to rollcage on left side.

About as quick as a 400hp RB20DET in a HCR32 chassis (YMS HCR32) when that Group-A R32 GTR is running on low boost setting (550hp at 20.5psi? with gear ratio's that didn't suit racetrack). From memory they normally run 58 sec when setup for Tsukuba and I presume on high boost setting.

Ok here it is, I just spoke to Mike S at Ztune and he WILL give us a even better rate then they are offering now if we get 5 or more people to buy !

Ztune already offers the entire Nistune set up at a great price and now because everyone is interested he will make it even CHEAPER. This is not a "group" buy like the traditional GB's are, its just Mike and Ztune being awesome and wanting to help out the GTRC members.

So the people who mentioned they want it - phone Mike S at ztune 1 604 568 9840 and tell him about this thread. Once we get 5 confirmed we get a even better price.

I am already on the list so 4 more people, if you mentioned in this post you wanted one nows the time to call in.
