  • Testing waters... Nissan Fairlady Z Z32.

I've had this Z32 for about a month now, and I'm seriously testing waters, due to the overwhelming response about it being a bad winter car.

It's looking like too much of a hassle in the winter time, and judging from some people's reactions, it might even be easier to be tooling around in a Skyline then this.

That being said, I'm opening the door up to trades.

    Here's the info:

    1991 Nissan Fairlady Z Z32 2+2 NA T-Top
    Vin: GZ32012176
    105,000KM's

    UPDATED: 10/14/10

    The Good:
Fresh tune up with new plugs, connectors, coil packs, oil change, and fluid top ups.
Full Apex'I Exhaust from the manifold back
    NISMO 1.5 Way LSD
    NISMO Stage 1 Clutch
Absolutely no underbody rust anywhere... there is a little surface rust on the outside (on the door sides, where they can scrape things, there is VERY minor rust, and on the hatch left passenger side there is a TINY (1mm) speck).
    New Snow Tires
Fully gutted interior from the front seats back (will include the rear seat back)
Pulls strong - no hint of bad anything.
Well maintained by me and the previous owner who was a mechanic.
A/C Blows cold, and Heat blows hothothot
    Rear Enkei wheels
    Original Fairlady Z floor mats
    Unused roadside flare
Z32Zone Fairlady Z Dash LED Plate (Very Rare)
Z32Zone Fairlady Z Rad Cover in Blue (Very Rare)
Z32Zone Foglight Delete with Carbon AirDuct (Very Rare - On Order)
    New Shifter Bushings
NISMO Side Stripes/Hood Stripes Package (Uninstalled)
Full set of Enkei 17 Inch Rims with Universal Bolt Pattern
    KROWN RustProofed
    Apex'I twin Air Intakes
    New rear suspension (OEM)
    Perfect Frame Rails
    Full Alignment recently done
    New Oil Filter/Fluid Top Up
    STILLEN Rear Strut Bar

Z32Zone is a Japan Only company specializing in mild to wild Z32's. Their website:
    http://www.z32-zone.com/
They completely refreshed/restored the red Fairlady Z Z32used in the movie "Wangan Midnight" driven by lead character Akio Asakura.

    The Bad:
Has a 4 lug conversion out back... since the mechanic owner wanted the brakes for his 240SX.
Paint is not in the greatest of shape (will need a one coat respray or vinyl)
There is a stain on the rear seats, due to the Japanese owner spilling some sort of drink on it (it's pretty gross, but a good shampoo could get rid of it).
    Factory stereo
Has some very minor scrapes where the owner in Japan may have slid against a wall on the rear passenger side fender.
    Transmission Seal Leak (Minor)
Needs a new front bumper since the old one is pretty beat up
    Needs new left projector bulb
Typical Stock Steering Wheel/Shift Knob wear and tear
Power Steering Splits becoming weak. Could begin to leak Power Steering fluid if not properly repaired/changed.
    Paintfade on rear bumper/spoiler

I now work at a Nissan dealer, had this taken into our Z specialists bay, and he couldn't believe it was a 1991 by looking underneath it. I was told by him that he hasn't seen cleaner 1996's that have been summer driven. Will come with a certified master Z technicians written referral of a very good Z car.

The previous owner had the car dynoed for shnits and giggles at an event and it still puts out 182 at the wheels, which is pretty good for it's age, and suggests that there is no rollback in the KM's.

I've been driving it alot lately, but insurance is super high on it for me - I had a quote on a Skyline GTS, and it was significantly cheaper.

I'll entertain all offers, but like I said, this is simply testing waters, as I'm not 100 percent sure I'll get rid of it.

This would be the perfect trackday slut for anyone who's looking for something reliable, and fun to throw through the corners. I've never had a problem with it except for a slight misfire due to needing new plugs, which like I said, I just changed with some nice iridium tips.

Willing to trade for a GTS-t Skyline (preferably around 100 k's) preferably 4 door, or 2 door would go over well also. If you have another JDM toy, feel free to send the offer my way as well.

Age doesn't matter to a dyno. Dyno #s also don't state whether the KMs were rolled back or not lol.
You're the oil change guy or the office photo copier guy?

Sell this beater yet? If you decide to part out to make some more money out of it, I'll take the rear diff.

Maybe this isn't such a terrible car for you.... It did take you close-to if not more than 20 seconds for you to hit 140kmh... From a roll.

But seriously, GLWS. It definitely was not a good winter-beater choice (I'm saying this as sincerely as possible) and happy to see that you've come to realize there are better options for you out there.

              Cheers,
