  • fs:95 civic cx boosted

I have some debts to pay off and the time has come for me to sell my car. I am asking for $6000 so I can still afford something after that will get me to and from work as well as, to school. I have invested a lot of time and money into my 95 civic. However, my intentions for the car were quite different than most, I focused my time and money on improving the "performance" and "handling" characteristics of the car unlike many who focus on just making "the car" look pretty! =)

My desire for focusing on improving the "performance" and "handling" of the car stemmed from my ambition to have a car that could be successful on the track circuit as well as, trap decent times at the 1/4 mile track. In saying this, my car definitely fits into a "niche" market all on its own. The car weighs 2200lbs (stock weight) and produces 246whp and 208trq, this car is literally "stupid" fast, and I would highly advise the next owner of my car to strictly keep this car off the road and on the track where it belongs . The turbo spools up very quickly and makes 13 psi at 3500rpms. The power to weight ratio is ideal, and with a set of high performance summer tires you can literally plant your foot to the floor and have no traction issues on dry pavement. It is truly a dream to drive and very easy.

The car has been Krown rust proofed every year by me and the previous owner.

There is roughly 10k invested into this car.
There are no "junkyard" parts on this set up.
The engine is built to reliably run 400whp all day on the drag strip.
      7 obo =)

You'll never get your money back out of it man. I have spent a shitt ton of money on my car and did it for love and passion. I didn't hope I would be getting the same money back out of it let alone as much as I put into it.
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

Yes I understand that. $7000 is still quite far off from what I put into it in total =)

            anyways, Price negotiable..

yea put its a honda so your gnna loose even more money on it. i had a dc2 with a fully built gsr turbo sleeved by golden eagle the works. had about 12gs into it sold it for 6. thats how things work. this car was mint with a cf hood and cf itr wing. like seriously dude this is a single cam that put down <300 whp you say it can do 400 but you dont have dyno sheets to back it up and the body is **** so i would say you would be lucky if you got 5...

However, go look up "vitara" sohc and you will see many 400whp + =)

yes i know what a vitara build. i am a honda guy. and vitara builds are known to stand up to power but at the end of the day its still a single cam with = no torque!!!!!! number two you can say it is "built" for 400whp well i hate to break it to you but that doesnt mean **** when you dont even make 250 on the dyno...

Hence the "turbo" is the brick wall here. I picked that turbo for street use, quick spool and minimal turbo lag...Good for road course as well..
If i was going to drag race then I would have picked a bigger turbo to get much more peak power.
Furthermore, I choose not to go with a boost controller because I know my turbocharger was going to max out at around 240 to 250whp..
There was no need for a boost controller because I knew ahead of time the turbo would be maxed out on the 0.9bar wastegate spring..
And by having a spring as close to my peak boost levels, this helps spool up as well.

Single cams don't have any torque? lol you must be joking me.. Single cam d16z6 has a longer stroke than any B series you can name =) The only b series motors that will have similar torque gains as a sohc are the B20 and B18b hence both the b20 and b18 have a long stroke...

Go look at some dyno's before you say "sohc" don't have any torque...Show me a b16 with good torque ?

Take a look at the Go Autoworks turbo kits, these kits make power and they are of top quality. So to come right out and say that my car cant make 400whp is quite foolish, since all supporting mods on the car except for the turbo point to 400whp =)

When comparing the power to weight ratio of my car, with a pair of slicks my car in its current state can run mid 12s 1/4 mile with ease. Of course a good driver behind the wheel would help as well. I have come to this conclusion from looking at other 1/4 times on dseries org and turbod16 with similar setups, hp/trq as my car.

In terms of setting a price for my car, anyone looking to get into drag racing for cheap.. I have a turn key "product" right here for a reasonable price. Anyone looking to do something like this on their own will be paying more than what my car does in fact sell for in the end.. no doubt about it.

I am just looking for exposure for my ad, and hoping word of mouth will give me a hand in selling my car. I don't plan on selling my car to someone who currently owns a Nissan Skyline... I'm not delusional =)

Ladies and Gentlemen, there is a simple formula for boosting a car.. Fast,Reliable,Cheap (choose 2)

I choose Fast and Reliable =)
Furthermore, the person who does purchase my car will have a machine that they can beat on all day and it will hold up to the abuse. Of course proper measures must be taken to ensure the oil and water temps are up to optimal temperature, and maintenance must be done as well to ensure longevity.

I will leave it at that, I expected to get some trolling on here due to being on a skyline forum. I have no problem rolling with the punches.

And as I stated above, my asking price is not firm, it is negotiable... However I do not think it is fair to suggest that my car should be priced similar to a "stock" civic.

okay egs are light yes but there is no way in hell you are a mid 12 second car. i had 303 whp 221 tq in my dc2 teg with a b20/vtec turbo on 11psi. on a jdm gsr tranny with a lsd. gutted interior and best time i ran was 13.01 @107.49 dont say i am a bad driver because i was running 1.7 60 fts. so dont run your mouth on times your car will run until you are at a track and have slips to prove it. fast a reliable eh well 250 whp is not fast and a turbod honda is never reliable. as far as torque goes when talking about tq no one would ever bring up a b16 so that was a stupid argument and you say single cams have more torque than b series EXCEPT for a b20 or an ls. well i hate to break it to you but b20 vtec and ls vtec are two of the most popular built honda motors.

hahaha mid 12's? get real. lets get something straight, people buy cars on FACTS. because you car is 'capable' of 400hp with a bigger turbo does not mean that it does or ever will have 400hp and hold up. The facts are your car has less horsepower than half the users on this forum, the body is complete **** and well not to hate but its still a honda, DIME a dozen. face it 7000 isnt happening, youll be lucky to see 5000. and fyi these cars stock with a body like that go from anywhere in the ballpark of 500-1500, so count your blessings that you can possibly trick someone into buying your project car that clearly is too much work to finish.

Ok after further research it is safe to say my car would run mid 12s on slicks and mid 13s on street tires.

Its not a "project" car its complete and runs and drives fine. it is my daily driver.

If someone wishes to paint the body thats up to him or her. But someone who is looking to go to the track and run a few 1/4miles wont necessarily be interested in a 100% mint body I would imagine.
