  • FS: 12mm X 1.25 Tap.

I do not know if this counts specifically as being for skylines or not. But I had to buy it specifically for my skyline.

I needed a 12mmX1.25 tap for the rear tie rod ends. I had stripped the threaded part when I was chaning the tie rods.

So I actually ended up getting 5 of them. This is a VERY uncommon size of tap and I could NOT find it at any store locally.

If anyone needs one I am selling them for $10 each plus shipping to wherever you are at. Its useful to have around since there seem to be a few parts on these cars that use it.

Edit for slight price change. I thought I had got them cheaper than I really did. I actually paid $45 CDN for all 5. So to make it even for everyone that wants one I figured I would devide that by 5 to get $9. So I figured $10 was a nice easy round number. I dont think shipping would be very much at all for one of these. Probably less than $5 but certainly not more than $10. So you could still have one at MUCH less than some others have had to pay.

Here are some pics of them

I cannot say how good of quality they are. Obviously some taps would be better than others. I used one of them to tap out my tie rod end thingys and it worked perfect with no problems at all. It centered on the thread and went through smooth. I just was using it to re-thread an existing thread. I would expect they should work fine for tapping a new thread into something as well. But the life of it would be reduced by doing that. You could also chase your lug nuts with one of these as well if you strip one. I understand the coolant sensor also is a 12mmX1.25 thread. I would not be suprized to find that others are the same as well.

    PM me if your interested.

BTW: I am selling 4 of them. I will be keeping the one I used for my own collection. So this is not a used tap, but brand new ones I am trying to get rid of.

This is a STEAL of a deal for this odd-ball tap.

I recommend anyone who does work on these cars to have access to this tap.

I paid $35 this summer for a high-quality tap of this pitch that i used twice.
