  • WTT: Zeal Coilovers

I have a set of zeal coilovers for an r32 gtst/ gts for sale. Spring rates are 8k front and 6k rear. Both the fronts are leaking but the rears are fine. They've been on my car for about 2 months, but are now sitting in my garage.

All 4 can be rebuilt for roughly 1200 CAD. See thread here for zeal rebuild: http://forums.gtrcanada.com/showthre...highlight=zeal

^ Hey matt, I think its better for you to just change the spring. It will be a better alternative. You can get aftermarket springs for coilovers, ie: Swift, etc.

How much would that end up costing me, and is there anywhere local I could pick it up? Originally I wanted something that would make for a good DD, but now I want something super stiff.

They are around $168USD per pair. You might be able to get them locally, try shops that are more performance oriented like AJ-racing.

I'd rather trade for stiffer coilovers instead of upgrading the springs, since I'm saving up for some other things.

Good suggestion for trading up springs but keep in mind most high end dampers are valved for the rate of the spring it came with. You can usually get away with +1 or -1 but I wouldn't recommend anything more.

For example if you put a 10kg/mm spring on a damper rated for 8kg/mm your going to bounce as the rate of dampening can't keep up to +2kg/mm rates. Same concept as putting a lowering spring on old stock shocks - you bounce.

Yes most dampers are adjustable so that's why you can get away with +/-1 and adjust the dampening accordingly but it won't be as accurate as the original spring it came with.

              Hope that helps.

ZEAL offers re-valving.. which if you changed the spring rates I would HIGHLY reccomend.

Also.. ZEALs are baller and worth way more than $800.

Are they Function X or Function XS?

Honestly, I don't know which model they are. I bought these off C-Unit so maybe he would know? I'm really just looking to upgrade to a set of coilovers that are stiffer instead of spending money on the ones I have to make them stiffer.
