Isn't machining flywheels generally frowned upon? Honestly just curious, glws

There isnt any issues cleaning the surface. Its crazy when people become stupid and shave so much off that it has weaken the flywheel. Its cheap to resurface like $30.

It's not that you machine it so much to weaken it, it the pedal travel feels like the clutch is worn out. The pedal instead of grabbing around the middle, it will grab farther up the travel feeling like the clutch is worn out even with new discs. Still a good deal for even if the clutch is used for parts.

you won't even feel the difference after machining. Since this flywheel has never been machined it won't be a problem to resurface it. You have problems when people keep taking material off. machine beyond the recommended specs.

I will have pics hopefully tonight but for sure tomorrow morning. I've been really busy with work.

You won't feel any difference in peddle feel after a resurfacing. Even stepped flywheels get the pressure plate mating surface taken down to the same amount as the clutch surface. In the end there will be the exact same step as before. One thing you can do is to get the machine shop to take off an extra couple of thou. from the pressure plate surface to give you a tad more holding pressure if you are pushing the capability of the clutch.

I always used to machine the flywheel to lighten it back when i was a young honda driver.... Never had an issue. Now everyone is telling me its dangerous. Meh.

I assume you will part the Greddy EGT gauge from the pod you have?
