Series 2 have a built in ignition pack/module integrated into the coilpack (hence the shape is a little different and they look a little bigger).

Series 1 have the ignition pack separately from the coilpack and located on top of the plastic coilpack cover.

i know they switched in 1995, i need them for my 95 rb25.. how do i know if i need series 1 or 2? the harness cover just has a little metal bracket on it and holds the plug for the harness.. i dont see any ignitor atatched to the top of my harness cover...

You'd see the igniter bolted to the back of your coil cover, little smaller than a deck of cards
You my friend have a s2. You also have an s2 rear spoiler, the s1 spoiler looks like a sun setting lol it's pretty weak
