a high compression, high revving n/a rb26 with open itb's would be so much fun in a hakosuka gtr, or s30

        mmmmm.

No, it's an HNR32 Autech version, RB26DE, it's very rare...

Have seen at least 2 dozen on auction over the past two years. Usually all beaten up. Yet to see one with a 5F or 6F swap. Now that would be fun!

Awww...seeing the RB26 minus the T's saddens me. Looks cool though. This should be a car that the new owner takes good car of and keeps it it's current state (actually, you should clean it up and grab another coil cover for it)...but still keep it in it's original state.

There was a videoclip on Youtube of that RB26DE powered R32. They showed how much better the throttle response is (compared to RB25DE) when jabbing the throttle and driving it through some touge course in the mountains. It actually is quite nice sounding, reasonably quick car for N/A. I agree that it needs a manual transmission.

They compared it to a RB25DE, RB20DET powered R32 and that included showing the difference between GTR, GTS bonnet weight by lifting bonnet, looking at engine differences. Of course the R32 RB20DET won the drag battle. But R32 RB25DE was last with R32 RB26DE second.

heh, for future reference, one of the key identifiers to a real autech 4-door are the boxed rear fenders
