Spend the extra 100 bones and get a new one that works.

Blitz SBC or Greddy Profec have worked great for me, HKS EVC not so much, but that's probably been solved since the IV and V came out.

At that price range your options are very limited. HKS EVC-S are a little out of your range, but possibly the greddy's.
