  • Wtb: Water/meth system

    Hello all,

As the title says i believe i am in the market for water/meth. car performs poorly in hot conditions and with my upcoming setup, should be a good safety feature. My question is the 400 dollar aem vs aqua mist? all the same thing? or major differences. Appreciate guys thank you.

I have a new in box AEM kit available. This is what Ztuned used on their cars that had w/m. I'll confirm the price in a moment, it was pretty cheap, around $450. Still in box, ready to ship. Located in Alberta, shipping cost will be about $35 with insurance, signature and tracking.

    No build thread.

Aqua mist hands down, they don't use a variable voltage pump like the AEM so it can be fine tuned instead of just delivering approximate treatment and a certain rpm. Aquamist delivery runs off of rpm and fuel pressure injector cycle to give the most accurate delivery of any system on the market. It has loads of safety features that will shut it down instantly and automatically change your ecu and boost to a safe map so it won't cause any damage. Don't get me wrong the AEM kit is a good kit it's just not as advanced as I would like to see,it's very basic - so basic in fact that big supra guys have replicated the kit for less then $100 buying all the parts from a hardware store. I personally have to much money invested to cheap out on something that could blow your motor up if not done properly or risk Leaning it out from poor delivery. I guess ask your self if you have the money to do it right ? Or if you have the money to do it twice ?

Don't wanna be cynical or high-jack the thread but. If your car "performs poorly in hot conditions" water/meth is not going to help.

This also depends on how you classify "preforms poorly"

let me re-phrase... the veh has considerably less edge than if i were driving on a cool crisp day. which leads me to believe the intercooler is heatsoaked. Either way, i want it for my build regardless. The car does not perform poorly in the grand scheme but to me, i dont want to be a slave to heat.

nailed it..... i would rather do it right esp at this point as i want to make the car pretty stable without many more mods. Any vendors on the boards who specialize in aqua mist? they have 2 models with varying jets as well correct?

The good aquamist kit come to $1000 with tank. Then there's a fair bit of work for install. I'm amost $1500 into mine. (don't ask, I have nearly every part on my car modified).

The AEM kit is basic, functional and less than $500. Anyways, everything gets better with more cost.

Best $1000 you will spend at this point, call Cam at Lightspeed I can give you his cell number if you PM me. The install is quiet simple its basic wiring and running a few electrical wires and feed line. To maximize the HSF6 I took my intake off and drilled and tapped it to run 6 individual nozzles - 1 into each intake runner.

gtrjon - aquamist can build virtually any set up you want but the best set up will have the HSF6 series components. Go to the website and look at the HSF6 set up. You will be very impressed with the technology they use and the components in their kits.

There was a R32 GTR recently tuned running only 2 nozzles on the HSF6 kit and without altering anything in the tune produce almost 60ft/lbs of torque and 18whp. Thats before the fun started !

I went from an AEM kit to aquamist cause I have no budget. Otherwise the AEM was fine for me. As for nozzles I went 0.3mm nozzles. 2 tanks.

Oh before going for a meth kit because of "overheating" you're running a large/high quality radiator and oil cooler correct?
