Good luck, I truly hope you go trough with it, I gave up when It was time to start buying parts for the engine head and drivetrain.
I decided to build a track 240sx with a boosted V8, so rebuilding a fairly stock engine for the GTR and will aim for 500 or so hp, probably next year. Since the RB25 in the girlfriend's is going to be 350-400hp, and I just can let her car have more power then mine, just wouldn't look good. lol
Now I don't want to say, that you shouldn't build it, but have you look at building a RWD car. At some point I was thinking of either making my GTR rear wheel drive, or trading it for a GTS, just because of how mush more expensive it was to keep the AWD. For exemple a viper trans (same has mustang, corvette, etc...) is about 2-5k and can take a **** load of abuse, and if that's not enough I can buy parts for really cheap to rebuild it or even make it stronger. Or if you want a LOT of hp, you could also go with an automatic. I know I prefer the stick too, but with an auto it's easier to have consistent time and you can have a 1000rwhp monster and live with it every day.
Sometime making what you want out of what you like, is harder then to just build what you want from the start. I learned the hard way wouldn't want you to make the same mistake.
Here is what I really want to build, when I sell one or more of my cars, or just get an other place so I can actually fit all my cars in my parking lot. lol
I estimated that I could build the one I wanted for about 35K. It's a kit car and you would be surprise at how affordable insurance is if you don't mind to check around.Last edited by collector240sx; 08-10-2011, 10:31 PM.14 VW Jetta TDI

Unfortunately I'm a very very stubborn person! When I know what I want I go for it and go till I get it. If for some reason I wanted to support the domestic market I would have bought a srt8 or 10 and dropped it in say a stealth or something that would support the motor. I have no need for the domestic market unless it's a old school chevelle and that's not fo me as that's my old mans style. I am set on building a true jdm monster that I can stand back and admire once finished and maybe get a high five or two when finished. Mainly I want to build something that will litterally scare the living shiit out of me when stepping full throttle. I was in a 600awhp Gtr and when I drove that I'm like wow I wonder what 800 would be like. I want to get into the tracking and maybe just go enjoy this sport every once in a while and kick some ass doing it so the set up I have in my mind is exactly what I'm looking for. I just need to sell my skyline(32/4) so I can start it! Someone buy it and I promise you I will seriously scare the shiit out of you with what will come nextMiss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!
