  • Wtb: Rb26 cylinder head! $800 or less please!

I am in dire need of a RB26 cylinder head. One I bought was not in the condition to place on the block.

I need it to be ready to drop in and ready to go. That means I am looking for a COMPLETE head, including valve train, shims, lifters, cams, cam brackets. Also need it to be cleaned of all left over gaskets. I don't need valve covers but I could use a coil pack cover.

The price to bring one in from overseas is 500 euro (best price I could find) plus 250 euro shipping to my door. That total's a bit over $1000. I would really like to find a great condition head in Canada before I go threw with buying across the pond.

Sorry if I sound commanding or anything. Please let me know if you have one.

Will buy once price is set!

    Thank you!

I was gonna ask the same thing. Have you done a valve check or anything. I have one that just finished rebuilding. It's been hot tanks, resurfaced, quick port and polish, valves lapped and all gaskets cleaned up. I'm in alberta though. Pm if you need advice rebuilding it and/or want to buy mine.

I had it taken in to the shop to get valve adjustment, because all my shims were 10 thou to small. So while it was there they checked over everything and got back to me telling me it needs valve seals, valve guides, machining and some other shite. Total came to $1200, and that's not including valve adjustment.

So I figured Ill buy a complete one that doesn't need anything at all done too it. Ready to drop in. Of course I'll have the new head inspected again to make sure its up to spec. But hopefully this time it goes better.

Edit: TyrelLee I just saw your post. I will pm you now!

Yes I assembled the entire head except for the valve train which was already in when I got it. And yes I did valve adjustment my self and with the help of mechanics. We then found the shims were too small so I had no choice to get it done by a pro Plus I lost all my patients to do it my self.

Man unless the person that owned it before had some valve slap you shouldn't need most of that stuff have you got another shops opinion and could even get separate quotes and they can bargain for your business. Simple test, if it's still assembled is to get brake cleaner and put it on it's side intake/exhaust and fill up the ports with fluid and see if fluid pours out of the valves.

I was told by the previous owner it was in great condition. But then the shop tells me it needs all this.

The head is still at the shop waiting on a reply from me to give the go ahead for all the work to be done. Another thing is this is the only shop that will touch/offer valve adjusting for this head. All the other shops either didn't want to bother touching it or didn't offer valve adjusting. To Make things a bit better the shop is on the other side of the city lol. I know there are a few outside London, but I am limited to stay local because Im carless haha

Lool yeah man, I remember seeing it and was not very happy when I missed the chance.

I can't really find something in good enough shape to just drop in tho. I really have zero time or money to add towards the price of the head.

Keep me posted guys! Thanks for the replies!

You for sure can buy 200$ ones. Mine was 300$ but put over 900 cash into it. So definitely if you don't know how to disassemble and stuff a 200-300 head stuff will add up for it to get resurfaced which is minimum you should do while its off.

                    I got mine for 350

Looks great but internals say otherwise.

Nothing came with the head. I added cams, cam brackets, lifters and shims. I bought this knowing I had to set all valves.
