Just an FYI I prefer the Midori Seibi front pipes. I had the Mine's front pipe pro in steel, in fact I may still have it somewhere lying around in the storeroom at King Motorsports.
I think the Midori Seibi front pipes are better built and higher quality. Nothing wrong with Mine's, just a preference. The Midori front pipe can be ordered in a 80mm or 90mm main which works well when using a 90mm cat delete. The Mine's does not have this option, 80mm only, to bolt up to a OE sized cat. So, if you're trying to make big power, the 90mm is the way to go, especially if you get the full Midori 90mm exhaust which gets rid of the cat/cat delete. I decided to go with the Midori titanium pipe (80mm outlet), cat delete (80mm), and the Tomei Expreme Ti exhaust (80mm flange to 89mm pipe diameter). "Cost effective" bolt on titanium system (all relative, the full kit from Mine's is almost $2k more when it's all said and done. I'm not making big power, at least, not compared to many others.Nick

I agree the midori is nicer and still well priced at $1300-1500. It should also outlast the thin (appears to be) exhaust (explains why the exhaust was $1200 compared to other more expensive ones when tomei is the more expensive parts usually)Black 1991 GTR. Serious garage stand mantle/parts car.

I checked up on the Tomei exhaust before buying- I think the main savings is the mid pipe resonator and the flanges. The resonator is a simple larger diameter pipe with some baffling, and apart from the main 3 bolt cat flange the others are all spring slip fits (flanges and spring perches are all 8mm (.31") thick, even the rear canister is a band clamp hanger, not welded on. They achieve minimal welding on it which tanslates to definite cost savings, plus the mid pipe can which is also minimized production manufacturing at best, and downright skimpy at worst.
On the other side of the equation is materials failure and repairability- fewer welds means fewer chances of oxidized welds (conventional flanges, which are mechanical joints and have stress risers at the weld, are a prime example of a typical failure point- with the flanges bolted together being far stronger than either weld and/or pipe), and the big weld that always seems to break is the main canister hanger- solved with the band clamp hanger (which is what many people resort to when this failure occurs on a titanium exhaust), and the welded mid pipe hanger floats a bit more, being spring attached rather than bolted together.
FYI the main tubing is 1mm (.040") thick, which in my book is good enough, if it's designed like the Tomei. For anything else that uses lots of flange joints, it will fail sooner rather than later with that thin wall gauge.Nick

Well I want to run an Amuse R1 Titan exhaust, now there's a bit of a discrepancy. Some sites say the regular Amuse R1 Titan is 90mm, and some say its 80mm, and that the Amuse R1 Titan Extra with the square resonator is the 80mm one. So now I'm all confused. Also I want the Mines downpipe because its Equal length, and the Midori isn't, which will not give me that throaty noise im after.Last edited by XempH; 03-25-2013, 11:52 PM.'12 Silverado

Midori is equal length. As someone who actually owns both, I think I can state that with some authority. I've owned my Mine's pipe over a decade, and the Midori pipe is less than half a year old and is the new version.
Many ways to skin a cat. You can get that sound from many pipes, not just the Mine's.Nick
