So how would someone know if it's the diff your looking for? I have a diff, I think it's from an a31 ceferio, but I'm not too sure, guy I bought it from said it was same as gtr, but it's defiantly not. Would there be numbers inside? Or count the teeth?

the ratio is engraved on the ring gear and is visible by simply removing the cover and turning the diff flanges till you see it.
      Should see 48:11 I think (4.36:1)
In example mine are engraved 35:8 (4.375:1)

R32 gtr could be engraved 37:9 (4.11:1) or something similar.

Damn, I just had it all apart, I counted 49 teeth on the main gear, I didn't see any markings although I wasn't really looking, I'll pull it apart again and check

49:12 this is prob what your looking for.

Now that I think about it, it's probably been swaped into something before there is a 1/2 inch aluminum spacer where the driveshaft Bolts on .

I didn't realize till I got home, it's not from a gtr, I have the axles for it somewhere too, I'm not even sure what it's from

Thanks Bruizer for posting that up, I should have mentioned that in the op.

Steveo, what you have there is actually a 4.08 (49 divided by 12). And judging by the final drive, output shafts and rear cover it looks like that's a stock S13 240sx diff.
