    Hi guys.

I'm going to be doing a restoration to my car in the next little while... and i'm finding it tough to find any info on window and glass mouldings...

any ideas to where that could be found... or if its not available.. what to use

    thanks

Right drive is by far your best bet.

Only place is Nissan Japan and I think can be bought through Right drive.

Inner part of trim is clipped on and can be reused / repainted. There are marks / slit holes on inner part of inner trim facing the window, which is where to put the removal tool to remove trim without damaging the inner trim (see Nissan workshop manual).

Outer part of trim is stuck to the paint with I think two sided tape or similar.

To break the sealant that sits under the window it requires piano? wire and a person on both inside and outside of car to cut sealant, remove windows. According to panel beater the rear window usually breaks when removing it, so budget for new rear window from Nissan.

Also you usually find rust under the windows once windows are removed, especially rear window that can leak on the top corners (due to chassis twisting into and out of driveways, sealant drying due to sun, etc). Part of routine maintenance is to remove the inner trim and remove the rust, repaint, reseal if the sealant has failed in places. Most new car window sealants are more resistant to the sun, so should work better than what was used when the car was built.

The rust under the rear window thing is concerning =\. I've been told I have a clean car by previous owners but I have noticed the rear window trim is split and probably very prone to leaking. Its been in my garage but I've never thought of it previously... Good thing I wanna replace window trims when I go for paint as well...

edit: Daryl if you see this, can you post up full price for
          front window trim
          rear window trim
interior driver/passenger window trim(at the bottom? Mine is shrunk and curly)
          exterior driver/passenger top of window
interior door trim(my passenger side seems to let water in when pressure washing)

I don't know how it is out west but over here in the east guys in parts in local dealerships can't help you as soon as they hear "Skyline". The only way I was able to get parts at local Nissan dealer was by crossing numbers through epc-data.

As 99_SI and Skym say: rightdriveparts.com

I saw the moldings there recently
