  • GTR Launch in LA

Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn just revealed the US-Spec version of Godzilla — the all-new Nissan GT-R here at the LA Auto Show. Ghosn claims that "this car could only be built with both our heads and our hearts." Apparently he forgot to add they needed their balls as the speedy super car's supposedly rated at 480 horses…
    You can't fix stupid.

Wow if only it went for $70K without stupid dealer markups.

I think I'll strike when its off warranty and around $50Kish

Time to get on the horn with Nissan for a Press Car

      Dave,

I've stepped off the wait list. Something tells me this thing will depreciate very nicely over the next 3 years. As well, there's enough space left for mods and upgraded models over the next few years to make the first year's run drop in price. God bless Nissan and their crappy resale

Mind you in 3 years the R33 will be here and IMHO is one of the best looking GTRs of the breed (Yeah, I know there's a lot of R33 hate but you've got to see one in person. 400R..oh gawd!), so it will be hard to decide.

400R is the only R33 I would ever want to own.

                  Think again.

although I have to admit I'd take a 32 over a 33 if ever I have the choice.

33 is too "supra-ish" for me.

I also much prefer the R33 GTR to the new GTR! My next car will be for sure an R33 GTR! Looks more of a sleeper car until you decide to drop the hammer!

I beleive there there is nothing the new GTR can do that a well built and tuned R32, R33, R34 can't!

                      1996 BCNR33 GT-R
                      1992 FD3S RX-7 Type-S

J hits it on the head.

One thing thats a constant in life: you remember and desire the one you saw first. The first real GTR I ever saw and drove was a white R33 -was visiting Japan and meeting the inlaws for the first time. Their next door neighbour had a Vspec. After seeing me do the walkaround for 15 mins he came out and started chatting it up. Next thing I know we're whipping around the block at 9am on full boost! Never forgot the excitement of that moment and I will always have a soft spot for the R33.

The 400R though does keep its value. Don't forget it was the Z-tune of that series. We saw one at Zele Int'l a couple of years ago and it was selling for about $80K usd.
