i think the drop is because by that age they are need a. expensive service time.
          b. close to 60,000km and it is rumored that they arent good after that due to the extreme pressures the engine is under
          c. its a canadian used car! welcome to drastic automotive devaluation country.
          d. hard to sell something for for more when the following years arent any better

Mmm.. no, I think the drop from 2012 to 2011 is because the chassis code changed from CBA to DBA in 2012, and there were numerous revisions to the car, both exterior and powertrain/suspension wise. And no, the engine and transmission don't give out at 60,000. There are numerous high mileage GTRs in Canada and many in the US that are ticking along just fine, and keep in mind most are modified as well. As for expensive service time, not really - consumables can be expensive (i.e. brakes), but other things such as oil changes are charged at regular nissan shop rates. Given the company it keeps performance wise, it's actually quite the bargain to maintain, provided you're not tracking it on a regular basis. Then tires and brakes can be expensive, as can the recommended servicing intervals for a tracked car.

As an aside, I've never seen a 2009 go in the 40's either, so if you come across one at that price, pick it up quick, that's a heck of a deal!

Those are wholesale prices, ie, what a dealership will give on trade-in. Retail, add about 20% to that. Canada is brutal in the used retail market, in the US prices are at least 25% cheaper, new or used.

Edit: ok, I'm drunk, red book retail, black book wholesale....BUT..like hell you will find a 2009 GTR in this province for only $40k unless its a total roach, full of catshit with a haybale in the trunk.

That is the red book wholesale price. Hence the whl.
The retail value is between 5-10k above that.
The blackbook is insurance write off values. For all years!
Redbook is just 2013 to 2007 right now and adjusts quaterly

Yea, that "whl" made me think it was the wholesale price.

So $40k is what a dealer will give you for a trade and then turn around and put it front and center on the lot for $60k.......pirates.

You should try livin' in this town....it's that bad. Vancouver would be better, but not by much.

A buddy of mine traded in a 1 ton duelly Cummins that was mint, barely 60k on it (was 6 years old). The stealership would only give him 18k for it on trade, put it on the lot a week later for 31k. There is a Viper on a lot right now for 5k (~10 years old) more than any other town would be embarrassed to even try to advertise for that much. They gots chutzpah in this neck of the woods.

Well - it seems they are making alot more than that as according to Autotrader the least price is between ~63-64K for a 2009 and 2010 with ~68-77K on them...

I think the R35 GTR's are holding their value quite well actually.

If you can get any GTR for under 60k you are doing well. The earlier models are holding their values because the newer ones are always a lot more money. If the next year is another 20k, yours may as well be worth what you paid for it.
