NAGTROC, We just finished the teardown of the VR38. At this point, we have the motor down to its bare bones. As soon as Jon gets a chance, he'll upload the remaining pictures of the shortblock rotating assembly removed from the block and I'll post them up. A lot more pictures yet to come! As...

It's interesting that they use plasma coating to substitute for sleeving shortblock in the VR38.

Interesting...lots of similarities to the VQ blocks & timing chain setup, but nice to see it's a solid deck block!

Looks like some internet drama is forming around whether it's a sleaved block in the traditional sense, and how much honing can be done to it.
