  • Amazing Customer Service

I had a great experience with my dealer the other day, and since good service is a rarity these days, I just wanted to share...

The dealer I bought by GTR from is also the dealer for my insurance (In Japan car dealers also act as brokers of insurance from Japan's biggest insurance companies).

My policy was up for renewal so the dealer (a small local non-auto maker affiliated dealer) called me up and asked me to stop by to renew it.

I went there in my Accord Wagon, which was neither purchased, nor insured at this dealer. When I entered the building the owner asked me for my keys, I assumed he needed to move my car since the parking is pretty tight.

Anyways, during the meeting with the main salesman about my policy renewal, he managed to work it out so my monthly payments were $50 cheaper per month then last year. That is a savings for $600 per year!! Thats pretty awesome considering the GTR has the highest possible risk rating in Japanese insurance.

So when I left the dealer I was pretty damn happy.
When I walked up to my Accord to leave, I noticed something was different.
While I was inside renewing my policy the owner of the dealer:

    1. washed my car
    2. vacuumed the interior
    3. cleaned and treated my dashboard
    4. repaired and painted my front lip!!!! (the car has an aero kit and i recently cracked the front lip in 3 places and it hada big white smear across the front)

I couldn't believe it, he didn't sell me this car, and has nothing to do with it, but he far and beyond what was expected of any dealer.

Just had to share, I'm pretty happy right now!

WOW are you kidding me? Washing and detailing the car is already simply amazing for a dealer to be doing for a customer that is just renewing the policy. But repairing and painting the front lip is just unheard of customer service.

Props to that dealer, and we need that dealer in Canada

Lol how do you repair and paint a lip in the time it takes to renew insurance?

That's some pretty remarkable service though.

It was more of a temporary repair, he glued up all the cracks and then repainted with touch up paint. Of course it's not perfect but it's good for now. Saves me the embarassment of driving around with a huge white smear and 2 chunks hanging off my lip lol.

What I want to know is what kind of crazy prep/paint technology/procedures they have in Japan where you can remove, prep, paint, and cure a lip in the say... 30-45mins you were in there? That's insane.
