Does Anybody Here Have a Modded PSP???

I'm trying for the life of me to figure out how to mod these things, and man, if you don't know anything about PSP's every single thing out there from tutorials to youtube videos eludes you.

Wondering if a local GTRC member can help me figure this bad boy out.

haha you should talk to my brother. his psp does literally everything. he surfs the net, goes on msn, plays n64, ps1/2 and xbox games and he overclocked it to make the graphics way better... I'm sure theres more, but I have no idea.... it's rediculous. and the kid is only 14.

I used to do that stuff when I was 14 too, but I was fat and girls didn't like me.

Now I'm thin, and the only thing that's changed is I do that stuff to cars

I pretty easy my friend and I loaded up the Dark Alex mod on mine a while back. I forgot the procedure though. The Dark Alex retired from hacking PSPs but his mods are still around.

But Lesson #1 Do not load the mod while on battery power, plug it in. If your battery dies during reflash you will brick it.

yeah when psp came out i got one and i search google for an hour or so lookin through stuff to mod it, got it so i could surf the net, msn, rom games ect..
had some fun playin doom and such on it
so just search google and be picky with what u download/read untill it sounds right and not fishy

...Or it was when I was doing this. I lost my charger and just recently found it so my psp just came to life yesterday after like 5 months of being asleep.

You'll want to find custom firmwares by some Russian guy/group since dark alex left. (at least thats what I remember)

I'll let him know... but as typical for kids his age, he is grounded from the computer for like a week... but when he can use it again i'll ask him if it's alright and give you his msn.

One thing... DONT do the firmware update. It will lock you out from doing any mods. My brother bought his first PSP and did the update and was pretty choked that it couldnt do anything anymore. Lucky for him a pixel went out so he got a replacement and hasent done the update yet.

Alright, well I have the beast working now.

What a pain, but definitely worth the eight hours!

c-unit - The biggest advantage to the cracked PSP is that you can download and play hundreds of Japan and Europe games that you cannot buy in North America.

If anyone needs help with this process let me know, with the pains it took me to get this thing sorted out, I'd gladly help anyone GTRC'er get it done.
