so am i the only one who thinks hyundai bought the s chassis hence creating the 2l turboed genesis, which has subtle hinnts of nissan styling. an engine designed closely to the sr20, and a factory installed lsd? just food for thought

Seriously... Until Nissan makes a Sxx as hot as this... I wont buy it.

Like really, who designs all these ugly honda civic looking cars these days?!

            Dammit.... No kidding...

*Nissan ceo walks into board room*

"Hai gaiuse!!! So today, were going to disgrace the s14, and the s15 okay?
Whoever can draw a honda civic free hand with a nissan badge on it will get to use their design for the new s16!".

Who knows if this project is even active at this point..haven't heard from Nissan about this in 2 years. Meanwhile, Hyundai is raking it all in with the Genesis.

Meanwhile Toyota is on track for a 2012 FT-86. It seems the reasonably priced FR layout is on the rebound. If Nissan were smart, they would either bring back the Silvia or make a mini-me GT-R. If this turns into a budget sports car build off, I say bring it on!

The 370Z is the closest to it..but they still retail for ~50k new. I think the original Z was more affordable back in it's day.

Nissan should've scrapped the Altima coupe and put their efforts toward an affordable FR sports car.

The 370z is a really nice car, but very expensive at the same time.... Especially once you start to add some options.

I think car designers need to take a look at Japans cars of the 90's.
Start with a boosted inline 4 or 6, and build a car off the style of the 90 jdm's, useful interior (r32 style, with a modern navi), and nice aesthetics, not the rocketship look that seems to be among cars now days, and price it around 25k.

the only problem i have with the toyota 86 is that they are using a horozontally opposed subaru engine, its almost as if toyota cant build the power with keeping the pricetag low

It has only been confirmed that the Subaru badged car will use the boxer engine, there is still hope that a Toyota engine will be used in the Toyota car.

                            150hp n/a?

                            Gay....

Throw an STI engine in there and I will be interested.

Looks nice though, and the interior looks pretty cool too.

                            Wait....

                            Sti engine?
                            Im sold...
