  • Canadian Dollar - down down down

The dollar is falling big time, at the moment I would like to advise all customers and everyone out there that when buying anything from Japan including from sponsors like me and others...

PLEASE BE AWARE that prices will go up for Canadian buyers, CDN dollar vs JPY is the lowest I've ever seen.

3 weeks ago, if you had $1000 Cdn you could get almost $110,000 JPY now you cant even get $83,000 jpy!

            Yeah, this blows

I'd advise NOT BUYING ANYTHING out of canada for a little bit until this settles, the exchange rate will go back closer to what it was within a month or two, hopefully.

I'm no currency expert but Canada was hit far less hard than USA (and even japan) was by this, our dollar should recover.

wait till this stupid politic crap to be over, things always fall around these times, takes a bit of time to gather back up, but always a hard time on the market.
Or so thats the way it always seems to be

Everything has to come down sometime, cant always go up up up.

Thats what makes the market interesting.

Low points like this are good for buyin stocks up cheap and having them go up again in a year or 2.

but atleast gas is down like someone else mentioned!

honestly, i have no idea how the canadian dollar will affect my daily life, so for those that wish to enlighten me, please do so.

as far as the canadian dollar taking a giant hit, i enjoy the lower gas prices. seriously, if you think about it, i think there was a $0.20 drop over the last week or so, and im enjoying it. although i rarely buy things from out of the country, i wont like it when i do, but theres not much you can do about it anyways as that is out of your control. if you want something, price is no object. really though, not a whole lot of people here deal with importing/exporting for our own personal benefit, so those people will be affected. not alot of people constantly order parts for their cars, so it doesnt affect them too much, and if they wait, it will get cheaper. for a majority of us, it shouldnt affect us too much. big chains might raise the prices a slight bit, but it gets offset by something usually, and i see it getting offset by the amount im saving on gas alone.
whats going to power my skyline come spring?

same for me... no more eBay / amazon.com buying frenzy

Gas price doesn't really affect me, I take public transportation most of the time... I only take out the skyline or intrepid whenever I work/go out on the weekends or for grocery shopping ops:

For all those that think that by not importing parts you wont be affected are convoluting themselves. Most of the things you see in the market place, excluding things like car parts are imported and subject to exchanges, taxes, duty and tarrifs. This includes food, clothes, booze..everthing except our great B.C bud. This mean the wholesaler is paying more, which means the retailer is paying more which in turn gets brought to the consumer. I am very pesmistic by nature but am forewarning everyone that there may be a reduction is gas for now but the major exporters are putting a cap on production in the next couple weeks which means it will once again go up. You may think there are ups and downs but for a long time now we will feel the down. Car parts and prices are inconcequential when it comes to a canadian depression let alone a global one.

                              Yes this dollar **** sucks.

My single turbo conversion is now going to be even more expensive because I buy most of my stuff from the states. It's not that I don't want to buy local, it's just no one sells what I need.
