  • Help me with my watch choice dilemna!

I have 6 days to decide whether or not to buy a new watch..while prices are at 50% off.

I've narrowed it down to 2 watches..both are the same price.
Please help me decide on one!

    Choice 1) Seiko SKA333

    -Titanium
    -Kinetic mov't.
    -Sapphire crystal
    -5ATM
    -37.5mm w/o crown

Choice 2) Seiko Le Grand Sport SNT001

    -Retrograde day side indicator
    -Sapphire crystal
    -Stainless steel
    -Cabochon crown
    -5ATM
    -Quartz mov't.
    -38.6mm

I'm thinking the SKA333 has a much better mov't, and it's titanium. Yet it looks bland.

The SNT001 looks better, IMO, has more features, but it's quartz.

    Hmm..

I like the second watch, it looks like it'll go with anything, but I voted for the Omega (if I only knew the one you were going for...) since they seem more refined overall.

I've got a SUN007, and I love the kinetic movement. It just feels better than quartz - the pendulum inside gives the watch some personality when you wear it. I know that doesn't really make any sense, but if you wear one, you'll understand.

The only thing the first watch has for it is the movement and the titanium..and the bezel is pretty slick. Otherwise, the second one is much better designed and looks more expensive. But I would much rather have the kinetic movement..

But I'll probably end up with the second one anyway.

I'm very pickey when it comes to watches. I haven't ever owned one I really like...mostly because i can't afford them. My parents were thinking of giving me a watch for my grad gift (uni) so I've been looking. There are a few Calibre series watches from Tag Heuer I like, and a few Seiko's. I may go for something a little on the more cheap side because they are also offering me a plane ticket to somewhere of my choosing (yay air miles) if I go that option.

I like the second the most of those choices.

Heuer watches are usually nice to look at, but for the price, there are better watches out there. If I were you, I'd go for the Omega Seamaster/Speedmaster Chronograph, Longines Grand Vitesse, or the Longines Conquest chronograph in ceramic black. To be more realistic, and to get that free trip, I'd go for a nice Seiko, or even an Invicta.

I don't really like either of them and I'd keep saving for an Omega but if I had to really choose between those 2, I'd pick no2.

                    edit: I have a SNA765

Yes, I won't get one any time soon...I also like some of the simple and sleek Rolex's...but I haven't checked out too many Omega's. *checks them out*

Rolex's are...Rolex's. Great watches, but you'll probably get sick of random people asking you if its real or not. I still believe Omega's are built tougher, NASA did choose an Omega over several other brands, including Rolex, in the sixties for their Apollo program.

The Speedmaster was designed before either of us were born, and I still believe it's one of the best-designed watches ever. It still looks modern, and there's probably a good 50 variants.
And of course, can't look over the Seamaster, even if you're just wanting to be James Bond for a day.

I'm a fan of Movado watches myself...

But if those are your choices I'd save for the Omega...

So today I ended up picking up the SNT001. Put a smile on my face for the next hour. Looks great in person, even tried to take some pics of it, but my digital camera is a tragedy.

                            :-D

Good choice. I'm wanting to pick up one of the retrograde date models at some point myself. Only three Seikos in my collection at the moment and that is not near enough
