I got a hyundia they are total crap I just wrapped 380k on my 1991 excel and it on motor # 4 , The only reason I drive it is because I can blow a motor and I'm out 200$ and 4 hrs of work.
I dont think hyundia's R & d is good enough to stand the test of time from anything they make.
I think when it comes to sports cars cheaper is almost never better.
Beside FF(edit damn ADD) sucks. regardless The word "sport" should not be applied to any FR , Unless you like tourqe steer and wheel hop.

You must be Thinking FF, because FR means Front engine rear drive.

You must also have bad luck because for some time the reliability of Hyundai's have been up there with Honda and toyota (see Consumer Reports).

I think for most people this car will not be on their list because of a badge and nothing else.

Also, the Genesis is not FF layout anyways, so that argument is irrelevant.

You can find out all about him by reviewing these posts. (As you've observed, there are many, but Murphy is a complex individual!)

I think the car in question will gain a large following as it fills a huge gap.
Consumer Reports is the publication I recall rating asian car quality on a par with the Japanese and above North American and European.
I can remember when 'Made in Japan' carried the same stigma as 'Made in China' does now. Hyudai is growing up and will surprise many!!

They're releasing an R-spec version soon, will be a 2.0T model, strictly with the manual tranny, and will be stripped of some minor accessories.

hideous as a boiled hippo. but probably half decent. no reason to buy it though. every reason you could have for buying this car, youd pick another car for being better at it.

Wow...It seems a few people are pretty hung up on one thing here. The name brand and nothing else:hit_head:.

After seeing it in person I'd have to say it's a good looking car. The quality of the interior, the fit and finish is just as good as what you'd find in a new Japanies car. Now add a good reliable engine and a FR drivetrain layout and I'd say you have winner...especially with the bargain price tag.

I'm not saying I'll buy one tomorrow but looking at the competition (in the same price range) what would you buy. Sitting in the new Camaro and Challenger give a good indication why GM/Chrysler are falling behind. The 2010 Mustang has a nicer interior now but the drivetrain is still way behind by many years. It's been said before but I'll say it again, the Japanies cars were once regarded in the same way when compared to American. Now Many of us here have chosen a Japanies sports car over the other options. You can find an old Corvette for less money than a clean GT-R and those cars are alot easier to maintain...Just a thought.

Rhys Millen.... i think he might be on to something. Everyone can argue.... one case or another but when a top driver uses this car as his base you gotta think its a worth while tuning base. Everything it has been put up against it is comparable too or beats. I love my GTR but i would definately think seriously about buying one of these.

Do you really believe HE chose the car? No, it's all about sponsers and money. Hyundai supplied the car, gave RMR money to run it. Millen changes cars just about every year, from a MKIV Supra to Pontiac GTO to a Solstice. And guess who paid RMR to field GM cars? GM. Racing is all about advertising. This year GM can't afford to keep their sponsership up, Hyundai takes over. Nothing to do with quality or performance. Hell, Toyota sponsered Gushi last year, gave him a Scion Tc to run. It's Toyota's sportiest car, but it's FWD, so they converted it to RWD. Would Gushi really run a Tc and go through all of that trouble if he had a choice?

I remember when the Millen clan had Toyota's support. He drove a Supra in the D1GP, his dad drove a Toyota in the Pikes Peak hill climbs. The year he got GM's sponsership, and the GTO, he started saying how great the GTO was and how it was a huge improvement over the Supra.

BTW, he did terrible that year in D1GP.

And one more thing: Millen and the Genesis were knocked out in the first round at Long Beach FD, where it made it's debut. Good way to start off..

Also, note how he won the Red Bull Drift cup last year, driving in his Red Bull sponsered Solstice.

its all politics guys....just like any other sport....

get used to it...sponsors, companies etc. etc....in the end its about the bank account and your appearance which leads to more money in the bank account...

the end justifies the means....guaranteed that RMR won last year because redbull had something to do with it...i watched coverage i thought he did semi well compared to some other drivers...

also....Hyundai is sponsoring that car obviously and they want to make a statement with it...it looks nice no doubt...i would get rid of the H but w/e....

overall its alright but for a free car i would take it as well...RMR dosent pay for **** remember that!!
