  • How to sping out a Sunfire

So I was checking out some Mosport vids on youtube tonight and I came across this and LOL'd hard:

Now my first thought was, who the hell takes a sunfire to Mosport? Track fees are probly worth half the cars value lol. More importantly how do you spin a fwd car with like, maybe 120hp at the crank. Looking at the lines he was taking obviously he doesnt know the first thing about driving, but why learn on Mosport, such a deadly track?

Ya for shame, if you don't drive an awesome car why even try and why suck so much?

Remember, we all have to start somewhere.

I was just poking fun at the car man. My point was more why "start" on a track like Mosport which is very tricky even for highly experienced drivers. Theres way safer tracks to build your skills on around here. Anyways lets not turn this into a debate. There was a guy last year at Dunnville in a BONE stock mid 90's Corolla that actually was running better laps than a lot of the supposedly quicker cars. He just went balls out, and I give him respect for that. It really isnt what you drive, but how you drive.

Generally depends on who is running the lapping day. Any type of timed event or competition helmets are always mandatory. Most of the lapping days I have attended left helmets as optional but recommended.

Quite true, you NEVER wanna touch the brakes when in any kind of slide. Sadly its instinct for a lot of people to apply the brakes when in any type of compromising situation.

this is why i think advanced driver training should be part of learning how to drive. not many people realise to not brake when having a nice slide unless u actually are drifting and know what ur doing

its jjust getting the fwd understeeer.
it is real bad from my expeirience on stock suspension, but it does get a little better, i love the little bit of oversteer of a rwd though, ill never go back

Porsche hosts a fair bit of track days at Mosport.

It is true why go to Mosport in a Sunflower. The track day costs like $500 range and I'm surprised no helmets to. Mosport is also the worst track to learn on oh man. Turn 5 don't even get me started :P
