  • Does your life have a purpose?

Now that I have your attention, consider this...open your mind.

OH NO, a NEW zeitgeist movie! before you disregard it completely, just think about it. If something about the way the world works doesn't seem quite right, just watch it. one of my favorite quotes is this:

"The biggest mistake in life is to disregard new ideas before truly investigating the information first"- Unknown Author

Form your own opinions, i watched the first movie and started to look more into how income tax works and if you can get out of paying it. There are many people already not paying, it requires time, knowledge and set up but it is possible, and is 100% legal. I can't make that up. There is published proof of court cases of this, so if something like that is possible that most of us would never think was, maybe there is a heck of a lot more that we all think we know but don't really know.

    THE VIDEO

Why choose to believe in anything? Live your life in present time and place without worrying about what will happen tomorrow. What happens in your life is based completely on your previous decisions. We create our own relationships, lives and futures. A prayer given or a second wasted on a movie is time lost in your own life.

Let yourself live without guidelines or governance.

"does your life have purpose?" is a pretty open ended question. I mean every person here has a different definition of what a purposeful life is.

just incase you were wondering. It is a different narrator at the beginning then the whole movie. the guy throughout the whole movie sounds way better.

But its still a very controversial movie

to the OP go here http://www.conspiracyscience.com/articles/zeitgeist/

it will prove everything you though was true in the movie to be false.

Basically only most of the 911 stuff is true. the federal reserve system exists but not the way the movie portrays it

i just spent 2 hours going through this website. my question is: why do you believe this site and not the movie?

i could make a site that debunked the debunked site and would you believe that? everyone can believe what they want, but don't you owe it to yourself to ask why?

bottom line on money. if the reserve prints 1 billion dollars what do they have that is worth 1 billion dollars to back it?

why are you worried about the federal reserve? its an american thing not a canadian thing...

is watching some movie gonna change my life? NO

also why is the onus on us to proove/disproove this movie/movement/cult/slash/ what ever it is?

its like trying to proove/disproove god

the more time we waste trying to proove/disproove anything the less time we have to actually do something with our lives and give it pourpose...

id rather play video games and drive my car than listen to some wacko talk crap...

cause there isnt anything we can do about it...

unless the worlds entire population united for the greater good nothing is gonna happen... also even if the world could unite would we be better off, or would those who represent the world be able to get past the bickering... o wait that already is happening...

like i said, i worry about myself, my love, my dogs and thats about it... everyone else can fend for themselves!!!!!

at the end of the day there is only one person you can trust and that is yourself, if you cant trust yourself, well then your screwed...

as for what is my lifes pourpose.... who knows maybe i have already done it or im doing it right now or i will do it..... very few people ever know there pourpose...

i will leave you with three thoughts, things i try to live my life by, or use on a daily to get me through good and bad times

1: Its nice to be important, but its more important to be nice

2: Hope for the best, Prepare for the worst, Expect nothing

3: there are those who dont know and dont know they dont know, there are those who dont know but know they dont know, there are those who know but dont know they know, and there are those who know and know they know... who are you?

not that any of this really matters because lets face it life is gonna go on with or without us
How many kids with A.D.D. does it take to screw in a light bulb?

the title of this thread really has nothing to do with the movie it was just to get you to click on it, every life has purpose.

watching the movie may not instantly change your life, but what it does is changes you from someone who doesn't know they don't know to getting closer to someone who knows they know.

Canada uses a banking system almost identical to the federal reserve, the Canadian government doesn't own the money.

you may think you can't do anything about anything, which in a way is sadly true. But if you at least know about it, then if the time arises where you can make a difference, you will be making an informed decision.

I was afraid that many of us would miss the point that the OP was trying to make. Like any experience in life, you can take or learn whatever you wish to choose from it.

Zeitgeist the Movie is to me a piece of art. Whether it is true or not, or whether I intend to join the movement or blow holes in it, is not the point at all.

People say that any alternative idea no matter how stupid it may be, can open up your mind to a DIFFERENT way of looking at things. Valid, but then the counter argument can be that it means that EVER liar can easily claim that the lie they speak is just to open people's minds. Again, a valid counter-argument. However, I think we are missing the point here:

The intent of a lie is to deceive, NOT to open the mind. For far too long, we as humanity have been cursed by the Socratic way of thinking, where there is only black and white - if something is not good, then it must be bad. It is the philosophy that has plagued most organized religions (not all) - if I am right and you disagree with me, then you are wrong. The whole principle of righteousness is based on arrogance - the main problem of our race.

We are cursed by the fear of the word 'possibility'......that what we know id right; and that anything different from that is not even possible. Remember, my fellow GTRCers, most, if not all discoveries and breakthroughs in science have happened as a result of accident, error, mistake and sheer circumstance. But when you read about them, the author narrates them in a logical fashion for people to LEARN from and see how it can happen. How wonderful would be the story of Thomas Edison if he had told you that before he actually invented the electric bulb, he had failed numerous times (some say more than 500 times) to do it.......and every time he failed, he would say, "I have learned one more way of how NOT to do it"? But when you read how he did it, you read a logical sequence of scientific steps that he took to create the first light bulb. Did you guys know that the discovery of Penicillin by Sir Alexander Fleming was a pure accident where the mold/fungus from a loaf of bread flew into a test tube filled with bacteria and killed them? The human mind is INCAPABLE of working on pure 2 + 2 = 4 logic, because it is not a logical organ. It is purely an emotional organ, which takes all kinds of logic and attaches emotions to it. It works on the principle of recall based on memory and builds forward based on what it knows. The ONLY way for a human mind to create something new is to break its patterns of thinking and jump across them rather than flowing a thought on a known path. This is made possible when you jerk yourself out of what you know and walk into the realm of POSSIBILITY.

Zeitgeist in its own way is intended to do nothing more than create a thought of POSSIBILITY. That's all. I am not certain how much of it is true, but I can tell you a few things about Part 1 - I have seen the original inscriptions of Horus story in Egypt with my own two eyes. I have also seen the Gnostic Gospels from Nag Hammadi that are older than most of the gospels in the Holy Bible and they clearly say that Jesus was a human being and not the son of God. I have studied Greek mythology, the Egyptian mythology, and the Arabian history as well, and trust me......there is a lot of stuff that we living in Canada neither know, nor do we care to know, which is true but we are led to believe by all sources available to us that it is a lie.

Most of us don't care because we want to keep our lives simple and it has little effect on us. But as Turismo perhaps rightly alluded to, most of us will remain like herds of cattle, following the beaten path, because its safer, known and less hassle. I like to live on the edge and challenge my paradigms. To each their own.

We all are amazing people in our own right and I am sure we all have our life purposes. All the OP is trying to say is that perhaps it may be a good idea to think about things that are a little off the beaten path. Maybe we will find more value in them and maybe a bigger reward of some sort. No harm in that, is there?
