  • wtf is up with Bride seats nowadays??

I just stated searching casually on Ebay and it seems there are "authentic" bride seats available at ridiculously cheap prices, some sellers stating that Bride is a trademark of some taiwanese company and even on seller in Quebec that claims his authentic seats are made in Canada?

    Whats going on here?

All the non-Japanese ones are fakes...Bride (as far as I know) only exists in Japan. RHD Japan prices are for authentic seats and it shows in the pricetag. There's a few ways of telling a real bride from a fake, the colors are no where near the same and they make the seats available in materials that Bride has never made their seats with (ie. grey suede). The dead giveaway is when the logo on the headrest isn't even straight.

I think bride in BC has a contract with AJRacing. no other company and get them, cause AJR's owner is good friends with Bride's owner and has exclusive rights to order. But i think this is only BC, I doubt its canada.

slightly off topic, but food for thought.

Ok heres the story one of those cheap ass companies registered the bride trademark in taiwan and started making fake brides which i think are re-wraped yonakas. and checkout that quebec sellers other seats he has the same seats without the logo for like $100.

Cheap Bride seats are generally fake. There a a whole slew of them on eBay.
It's hard to tell the difference sometimes, but there are a few clues as real Brides have a lot of badging on them.

Just FYI we are a Bride dealer and we deal directly with Bride Japan.

I love the Bride Euro IIs we sold Neil, I often stroked them while they were waiting for shipping. I'll probably put them in my car someday.

I heard that the higher ups at Bride in Japan went there separate ways when the trademark renewal was up. The guys couldn't agree and went there separate ways. The owner of bride in Japan only got the trademark rights made in Japan. So the other people went to taiwan, canada, etc and started making there own seats, under the bride name, but legally a different trademark. Supposedly the taiwanese versions are the identical construction of the real ones, just with some slight fabric and logo variations.

Honestly, not sure if thats true.

It sucks because its next to impossible to find AUTHENTIC brides nowadays, aside from Japan retailers, an shipping costs are what bones us here.

Sounds too weird to be true to be honest. Is there any print online about this?

from what i've learned (i really enjoy ziptied some days):

                              "So here's the short story.....

BRIDE comes into existence. (same factory that does OEM NISSAN seats) They hire Tee's to do all their marketing and sales. Several years ago, Tee's gets in a fight with BRIDE and starts producing their own seats in Taiwan. So for several years, there were two BRIDE branded lineups of seats. Two BRIDE websites, etc. More recently, Tee's successfully steals the BRIDE from the original BRIDE in court because Tee's produced a US trademark and BRIDE didn't have anything like that. (they were dumb)

So the original manufacturer of BRIDE seats is now called LINEAR. They are an actual manufacturer of seats. (they still make OEM NISSAN seats and have a factory in Nagoya)

Tee's just branding outsourced seats as BRIDE. They are NOT a manufacturer. From what I understand, they are still producing seats under the BRIDE brand but they are made in Taiwan as they have been since Tee's and BRIDE broke off ties. That whole BRIDE JAPAN thing might as well say BRIDE TAIWAN as that's where I think they're all made now. Taiwan...trademarks...hahahaha! Those seats on ebay are probably made in the same factory and the factory probably registered BRIDE in Taiwan or some other sort of antic like that. If you want real made in Japan quality, LINEAR is where it's at."

Dave can you bring any light to this? The source of this is apparently working with the "original bride".

                              Wow this is confusing.
None of you would have read this since it was posted in the private Moderators Forum (thats where all the excitement is boys)

                              Good info for you Daryl.
